The heroes awaken to the sound of combat and chaos in the Flan village. While the rest of the heroes (Ichi, Maedhros, Torr, Idky, Lowdog, and Yavin) are sleeping together in one tent, Squattingbeaver is cuddling with Turquoise Rain in her nearby tent and thus separated from the others. The two shaman are awoken by two braves dragging in a third, badly wounded one into Turquoise Rain's tent. The pair begin to tend to the wounded when he suddenly tries to grab and kiss Turquoise Rain. Meanwhile the other two "braves" morph into gallu-demons and attack! In a moment, 'Beaver is caught and wounded. Turquoise Rain, however, dodges the worst of the attacks and even stabs 'Beaver's attacker in the head. The shaman from Oerth is, however, pinned and instead of letting the monsters slaughter him, 'Beaver shifts ethereal while the shaman of Charn screams at the top of her lungs for help.
Lowdog hears the noise and with his talent at dreams snaps himself awake. Torr too hears something and the totemic warrior grabs the paladin by the scruff of the neck so the pair charge to the shamans' rescue. They arrive in time to see Turquoise Rain savaged by the pair of gallu-demons. The succubus is quite irritated, especially when the pair start chopping into her allies...!
The succubus is none other than Lilla and she unleashes a mental attack on Lowdog which confuses him. Instead of fighting back, he talks to his mother about not wanting to get up and lets the gallu-demon grab and rend him, going so far as to lick it's claws. After Torr hacks twice more, he too succumbs to Lilla's mental attacks although at first, the paladin goes into a blind fury and attacks before "chatting" with his holy sword.
By this point, 'Beaver has returned from his ethereal jaunt and assumed lion-form, attacking Lilla who teleports to safety. Each gallu-demon is savaging Lowdog and Torr, respectively. Maedhros arrives and after magic missiling the demon on Lowdog, finds himself grabbed in the demon's claws. Before anyone can help, however, the pair disappear!
At this point, Ichi arrives and seriously wounds the other gallu-demon, which disappears as well. Lowdog and Torr recover from being confused, but the totemic warrior has wandered away from the battle. Now, he sees the same gallu-demon in the distance and charges it, although it sees the Flan warrior coming and again disappears.
Back at Turquoise Rain's tent, a glabrezu has teleported in to attack is slaughtered in a moment by the combined attacks of Torr, Ichi, and 'Beaver-the-lion. The group looks around for Lowdog and dash off to help him. Idky and Yavin arrive and begin to tend to Turquoise Rain. The cleric of Fharlanghn uses a death's door to deal with her mortal injury but the cleric of Celestian cannot cure her wounds! Idky uses a know alignment to verify the shaman is not a demon and Yavin uses his mental powers to stabilize her.
Outside, Maedhros has been brought to the edge of the cornfields where vrocks are telekinesing or simply flying off with Flan caught by the gallu-demons and brought there. The gallu-demon holding Maedhros, in fact, tells the vrock that he must first incapacitate the half-elf before releasing him, yet doesn't use all his deadliest powers to do so. This gives Maedhros a chance to invoke his burning robes. The gallu demon is slightly singed, leaving the cleric of Corallon for the vrock to maim. Two swoop down and nearly kill Maedhros as Lowdog arrives. The gallu-demon that had captured Maedhros sees Lowdog, assumes his form, and wanders off calling for a "healer". For his part, the real totemic warrior begins to battle gallu-demons as the vrock ignore him and continue to gather helpless Flan and fly them up to the skyship...
Ichi, Torr, and 'Beaver encounter a nalfeshnee which attempts to fear them, but Torr's sword absorbs the attack, which is when the balor arrives. Torr air-walks up to slice the balor but it attacks psionically, dropping the paladin who falls nearly 30' to the ground, stunned. Luckily, Torr's holy aura is intact and keeps the pair at bay physically. Ichi has already dashed off back to the tent to get his magical broom. Enter Yavin and Idky, fresh from having saved Turquoise Rain. 'Beaver resumes human shape as the two clerics join him in Torr's aura. That's when Lilla appears again with a vrock -- she's clearly intent on killing them all as personally as possible!
Lowdog, meanwhile, is not doing well. His vorpal blade took off one gallu-demon's head, but alone he's no match for the handful. True, the gallu-demons wait until their captives are flown off by the vrocks before attacking, but even still it's one against many. Finally, Lowdog has no choice and must leap away and run for help. Maedhros, meanwhile, is still critically wounded and immoliating, setting the cornfields ablaze.
The balor attempts to use it's lash to drag Yavin out of the protection from evil aura but amazingly misses. The nelfeshnee tries to take a swing at Idky, but he too reaches the safety of Torr's aura in time. Instead, however, the vrock telekinetically yanks the cleric from the safety of the aura. Yavin turns and psionically attacks the balor, piercing his defenses just as 'Beaver invokes his feather-totem, summoning a 60' tall roc. The shaman instructs the bird to slaughter the succubus but she teleports away before it can. The gallu-demon-in-Lowdog's-shape crawls toward the melee, calling for help in a bid to sucker more heroes into its clutches.
The balor counter attacks psionically, psionically blasting Yavin and everyone around him, but only the paladin (already stunned from before) succumbs. Ichi zooms back on the broom and engages the nalfeshnee on to be caught in a pincher move between it and the vrock. 'Beaver, meanwhile has the roc reorient on the nalfeshnee and the demon doesn't last long.
'Beaver instructs the roc to slaughter gallu-demons and Torr air-walks back to attack the psionically-engaged demon, landing a crippling blow that stuns the fiend. The fall from 45' finishes the job...
With Ichi's help, the roc finishes off the last of the gallu-demons, which is when Lilla teleports back with a five more vrock as well as another, more powerful looking balor, Zurath, the balrog. Zurath thanks the party for "freeing him" and slaughtering Yeenoghu. "I know the secret of the runestone and have used its power to enhance my own. I intend to feast on your souls as I will the Flan villagers...adding your soul's strength to my own!"
'Beaver sics the roc on the succubus again. Even though she's on the other side of the gang of demons, the great bird reaches Lilla before she flee to safety; the roc's sharp beak slices her to pieces! Torr, still in the air, air-charges the enhanced-balor, leaving his back unprotected in his intent to finish the demon. Meanwhile, Lowdog charges the vrock line and Yavin psionically engages Zurath. Ichi runs into the safety of Idky's protection from evil aura to be healed.
Three vrocks cripple Lowdog with an injury to his spine. A vrock attacks Torr from behind and yet another vrock uses its telekinesis to pull 'Beaver from the safety of Idky's aura. The balor wreaths himself in an immoliating fire. Meanwhile, the healers tend to Ichi.
Torr scores on the balor and engages the vrock. Ichi charges to Lowdog's rescue, keeping the other three vrock off of him. Yavin continues mentally battling Zurath. The shaman gives the order "attack all the feathered creatures, beginning with those closest to you" to the roc -- it quickly slaughter's Torr's other foe. Unfortunately for 'Beaver, the last vrock engages the shaman and wounds him.
Desperate, Zurath invokes a symbol of stunning but the shaman is the balor's only victim. Ichi seriously wounds two of the vrock and Idky is forced to battle the last vrock rending the now-senseless 'Beaver. Torr's holy sword manages another solid blow, but before the demon can teleport to safety, Yavin lands a crippling mental attack, disrupting four YEARS of the balrog's memories...ironically, Zurath has now forgotten the secret of the runestone he was bragging about moments ago...
Torr lands another blow, decapitating Zurath just as a gallu-demon appears. Idky's shillelagh proves ineffective against the vrock attack 'Beaver, but the attack prevents the shaman's death. Working together, Ichi and the roc finish off most of the vrocks with a little help from Torr.
Two more gallu demons appear, but Torr hacks up one (with a little help from Ichi) while Yavin again launches a crippling mental attack that erases hours of the other's memory. Ichi then stuns it and kills it. The roc flaps off, slaughtering chickens and morning doves...
Torr, recalling his lore in demonology, moves about the battlefield hacking off the heads of any intact demon carcass he sees. Demons dissolve into ichor when slain... In the process, the paladin finds three rhion stones on the second balor's body, one orange cube, one deep red sphere, and one yellow lozenge.
The other heroes discuss what to do next as the healers tend to the wounded. The demons have carried off a number of refugees to the skyship and there is no sign of François, Christien, or Narrissa. The party hesistates, which is when Torr approaches and says, "Duh! I'll walk up there myself if I have to." Lowdog (his spine against functional thanks to a cure serious wounds) responds "Torr's feeling ballsy after killing two balrogs..."

Then we just do the firegate again to do the person exchange. If Ray is agreeable, would Ichi lend the gauntlets to Artec for the time he's with the party? My reason for asking this is because Beaver would need their strength to bring Artec back with him, and Ichi can't use them during his fight anyway.
Idky can lighten load Ichi and Maedhros can reduce him too, if necessary. Getting Artec to us will probably require Idky going through as well to lighten load him. I'm sure we can figure it out. Heck, could he possibly make use of the bag of holding to tote people through the firegate?
