My first thoughts are: Kephalonia -- 9th lvl witch of Hecate (Andy) Adoma -- 8th lvl cleric of Aesclepius (Ray) Andorallan -- 7th(??) lvl fighter, Hades (Craig) Meara -- 3rd (4th??) Ranger of Persephone (Kari) Vaughn -- 8th lvl?? (Paul) OR Allyrion (8/8??? cleric mage?? effectively 9??) David -- Vladimir, lvls??? Jenn -- Thera, 6th?? lvl cleric of Hades? This is still a ROUGH first pass at this list...I've been a bit swamped at work this week...not to mention I was out sick yesterday So the next few days will be keeping me busy!) I will gladly accept any suggestions on the party make-up/dynamic!

Here's a quick distillation of what's on the list so far...
For DAVID: Amber -- chosen child of Athena with psi powers -- 1st Arion -- cleric of Apollo -- 2nd Corriander -- cleric of Dionysus -- 3rd Dionan -- fighter -- 4th Kyreä -- cleric of Hercules -- 4th Azoreus -- cleric of Zeus -- 5th Shellique -- druid of Poseidon -- 5th Erik -- assassin / witch of Hecate -- 5th / 1/2 (6th) Jasmine -- houri -- 7th Brand -- fighter / mage -- 7th / 9th (10th)
PAUL has: Demetrius -- cleric of Poseidon -- 4th Shay Shay -- alchemist / transmuter -- 5th/5th (6th) Theseus -- paladin of Athena -- 8th Pandora -- cleric of Athena / werelion -- 6th / 7th (8th) Stephanos -- cleric of Apollo -- 8th (although he's a split-class, that doesn't really count) Vaughn -- ranger -- 10th Allyrion -- cleric of Zeus / mage -- 9th / 8th (10th)
Thus Paul and I should be able to "fill in" all the nooks and crannies, level-wise. Keep in mind, you will NOT have a group even as powerful as those that hit Grabford, Chendl, or the invaders of Amberwood. The trial is to see how much you can do with what you do have.

Kephalonia mentions to Arrianna that the DM typically allows 10 human-sized people to pass through a 'Dimention Folding' spell, caster inclusive. Just FYI for sizing the party, if you'd like her to be able to transport the party around the globe.

Yes, There is currently 6th, about 10K away from 7th. I also need to pour some eeps into Andonia, who needs to "back fill" eeps, she is 5th level, if you need another fighter type for any of these.

I think I already sent KK a possible list of Greeks for the game. This is really hard to put together so lets all give KK the easiest time we can and be as flexible as we can. I believe my suggestion was:
Andorallan (6 levels) Fighter Andonia (5 levels) Fighter Kephalonia (9 levels) Witch Serendipity (5 levels) Psionicist Brand (10 levels) Fighter/Mage Nikos (5 levels) Fighter Xena (10 levels) Cleric/Fighter
50 Levels 5 Fighters, 1 Witch, 1 Cleric, 1 Mage, 1 Psi
the other option would be to bring Clara instead of Xena and use the extra level to sub-out Thera for Andonia.

I've been pondering this...it's been a pretty hectic week at work, so I haven't had much time.
Thanks for the suggestions Paul, it's really helpful!

The only problem with these games is that on the first one almost everyone will only be playing one character. We have a max of ten characters and 7 or 8 players for the game. I know KK is open to suggestions, but the questions who would you rather play?

Here is another suggestion of a party make-up...what do you think of this one?
Alexis (5) Fighter Andonia (5) Fighter Kephalonia (9) Witch Pandora (7/6) Werelord/Cleric Brand (10) Fighter/Mage Nikos (5) Fighter Gwen (8) Cleric
This gives: 5 Fighters, 1 Witch, 2 Clerics, 1 Mage
Paul, does Pandora have her silver form yet? This would be a definite advantage....but I'm not sure what level you get it...
I tried to focus on characters who could be combative...or would have other useful skills in place of combat.
This was VERY hard to get a good balanced party within the 50 hit dice...lol Everyone has characters just AROUND the level I would need to complete a party...

Howdy Kari
Please note, I'm in the Tech Summit all week, so my responses will be intermittent-at-best (I either have to steal a laptop or run back to the office).
a) the entire point of the first Trial is "how much can you do with limited resources"? It SHOULD be hard to put together a "perfect" party -- if it weren't, then I didn't do my job right. With a party size cap of 10 and only 50 levels, we're talking 5th to 8th lvl PCs mostly.
b) A balanced party is important. I think both yours and Paul's groups do this.
c) Werelords get silver form at 8th and thus are too expensive for this game
d) While I would ABSOLUTELY be tickled to play Brand and think he's (for his level) THE most fighter-heavy mage in the world, if you need me to trim levels, I do have many other Greeks. True, there are only three Greek mages (Brand, Allyrion, and Vlad) and for what it sounds like you're doing, Brand is the best choice, but I want you to feel you have options.
e) Players DO have a right to say "no, So-In-So doesn't want to go on this game." It would look a little bad in cultural context, but not that big a deal.

Yeah, my only reason for putting Brand in the line-up is because he's the only mage that would fit with what I wanted to do...you said Vlad was off limits for these games *pout*
If anyone does not like the character they are playing, please let me know...I'll see what I can do...*whimper*

No objections from me, Andonia even has a portrait now that I am eager to show off. Things have been too hectic to get her scanned in and posted though. I am thinking about taking up a new hobby of character sketching. Jenn

Hi KK,
The only problem I could for-see with this party is that Alexis and Andonia don't have magic weapons yet. I have asked David some questions about loaning items to people for the game and he has hinted that there could be repercussions if we loan out items. I'm not sure if that was from people not going to people going or just amongst people going.
For Pandora, she is only 6th level as a werelord. If she had a potion of super-heroism, she would be an awsome addition, without it she is still a cleric and a werelord with descent hit points. In Werelord form she is AC 2, 65hp, move 15, gets a claw/claw/bite attack with 18/80 STR. As a cleric her AC is 1.
I'm willing to play pretty much anyone. The only person I don't think would be a good choice is Demetrius, the merman cleric of Poseidon. I don't have legs and I'm more of a water-based character.
