All items used MUST be OWNED by a member of the party in question....think Halls of the Dead.

well that just made things more difficult...
Good point about the lower level folks not having magic weapons....heck some higher level characters don't have magic weapons...
This is going to take more work to get a decent party together...

Kari, Paul, PLEASE do not stress over it. The goal is to see what a seriously constrained group of themed PCs can do. Everyone will be "living the same pain" so it should all balance out in the end. The NEXT trial will have a much more relaxed level limit...

Yes? All you want to know is...?
Can you still fight if you're missing your two front teeth? It never stopped Tasha aka Snaggletooth!
Can you have sex with an ogre if you want to? Samandra certainly enjoyed being a size queen...!
What's a +2-sword-of-Solinane-wants? Well, that code word has been in-play since 1987 and STILL no one knows...!

Alexis just wants a nice high place on a flank to put her feet while she engages targets.

It makes the 'where' we hit much more important...that's all. Hmm...

And yes, someone got the reference to 'Aliens', Vasquez...
I've got some good ideas so far, perhaps a different approach. Is it required to take all 50 levels?

The 50 levels is the MAX that we can take. We can take fewer if we like, It's all up to KK.

The final GREEK party has been chosen: Kephalonia--9th, Witch of Hecate Brand--7th/10th, Fighter/Mage of Zeus Rufus--9th, Mariner of Poseidon Stephanous--8/7 Cleric/Archer of Apollo Andonia--5th, Amazon Fighter of Athene Alexis--5th, Amazon Fighter of Athene Meara--4th, Ranger of Persephone This gives us a pretty fighter heavy party, with two healers, a tough mage and several methods of transport (Dimensional Folding, Brand's cube, Teleport, etc...). Please let me know if anyone has a problem with who they are playing...I believe we will see you all on Sunday at Noon! Our target is: Waterwall Caverns -- Underground cave complex in the north-eastern edge of the Vesve and on the northern shore of the Deepstil River. The base is used to command both regions as well as keep the Wolf Nomads in line. Very large orcish contingent with goblins and some ogres, a small force of undead and a couple of lesser priests and mages in command.I've chosen this target for several reasons: a) This force is a command post for multiple regions. Taking it out will hopefully allow the Wolf Nomads to rebel against the forces of Iuz or at the very least cease being under their thumb. Taking out priests and mages will be a main focus, but expect a powerful fight and even a demon or two to pop in! b) This target allows our resident witch full access to her aresenal of spells; c) Since it is a cavern complex, it will be much more difficult for the party to get seperated and/or surrounded.
d) It caters to our strengths, minimizes our weaknesses, and using Brand's cube, we could potentially catch them unaware.

I was hoping to go to Crockport! Waterwall caverns does seem like more of a fighting based dungeon, but I think with Brand and Kephalonia's mobility we should be able to move around a bit, drop a bomb or two, and repeat. Demons will be able to see us etherial, but with any luck, the entire place won't be made of Gorgon mortar or quasi-magical impervious material. Kephalonia being fully functional underground is good, but it will probably take 2 4th level spells to get us there with some sort of relative safety when she's not familiar with the location. I'm thinking about the strategic value of this target, and it's much higher than where the Oerdians went, but still tertiary all by itself. If we can find some wolf nomads and get them to attack / snipe / raid Greenreach and/or Kobleckk, then THAT would cause some notable re-arrangment of Iuz's forces, to be sure. We definitely need to count that as part of our mission - getting help from them. I wish we had a good way to mess with the really valuable targets like Crockport or Molag, but without serious time to plan it, and really good intel, chances of success aren't great.

A couple of things to think about...
First: assuming both missions were a success (obviously NOT true with the Oerdians), Admundfort would have been a much more crippling blow than Waterwall. Without Admundfort, Iuz would have lost control of his naval patrol of the southern coast of the Shield Lands. Instead, however, his "coast guard" must suffer a set-back of a few weeks, while they repair the damage to their ships and persecute the Rhennee for aiding the Oerdian. In contrast, complete destruction of the force at Waterwall will open up the Wolf Nomads to move (and potentially maraude) as they please as well as free up the northern edge of the Vesve, but further gains would only then be possible, not automatic.
That said, Waterwall, given your party-strength, is actually a target you could take -- using Kephalonia and Brand, you can choose your battles and possibly have a complete victory (which would certainly be more than the Oerdians accomplished). Remember, as you pointed out, Brand can use the cube to set the party down most anywhere he wants and Iuz is unlike to spend 10s of thousands of gold pieces reinforcing a cavern with gorgon-mortar. True, demons will be problematic, but (and here Brand grins), Etherflame is +4 when ethereal...
Intel is a VERY good thing to have. Since the Greeks are "inspiring" this mission, Kephalonia gets a very good image of the location. If she's willing to shoot off a probability control spell, Brand would be willing to trust her dimensional folding for a quick visit. Then, the two of us can recon the area, choosing teleport sites, doing ethereal scouting missions, casting divinatory spells, etc. That said, time is RUNNING OUT to do that, so let's start the process NOW!

Honestly, my FIRST choice was Molag...to try and reinstall Queen Fangrabber to power! Second would have been Crockport...However, with the limit of 50 levels, neither of these choices were really possible. I agree that a small, elite force to "assassinate" leaders would be incredibly useful....but such precision work needs more time than we have (3 days, actually only 2 because day 1 consists of people arriving from all over the multi-verse...1 day for recon...1 day for the actual attack).
As it is, I think we have a pretty good group put together, once we have some intel we can make an actual "plan" lol
