The Grand Druidess, Graelynn Amberose, contacts Mikhail and Glorianna, asking them to perform a service for her. The mission is to journey to the world of Terrax and there locate the heirophant druid, Qasmar. The catch is that Qasmar is on the run from the Vridian Empire and Graelynn only has a vague idea of his location...
To aid them in their task, the two druids gather various allies. Mikhail asks his long-time adventuring companion (and survivor of multiple mishaps among the planes) Marc the Beastmaster. As a native of Maneä, Marc will be at something of a disadvantage dealing with the humans of Terrax, but the beasts of that world should prove quite similar. In order to communicate with the locals, Graelynn asks the elven archer/assassin, Rethmera, to accompany the party and act as translator between Common and Koiné. Glorianna, meanwhile, taps Aris, the Scarlet Sorcerer of Greyhawk to act as the party's wizard. Rounding out the party are the werelord, Wooden Thighs, and the shapechanger, Anasta.
Graelynn has most of the heroes itemized and Mikhail probability travels to Terrax. There, with a bit of assistance from Rethmera, the young druid is able to locate and teleport to the small city-state of Ghyr. The party then enters the city seeking clues to the location of the missing heirophant. Unfortunately, the group runs into trouble -- one of the whores Marc hired tries to rob him and gathers a group to attack the heroes in the night. The party slaughters the thugs, but is forced to flee the city into the night.
The heroes regroup in Ghyr Wood which then spend the next three days searching through a combination of questioning animals they encounter, animal summoning beasts to find the druid, and communes with nature. On the third evening, a werebear tracks the heroes down and after speaking with Woody, warns the group that there is now a bounty on their heads. Later, a pair of unicorns chance upon the group. Glorianna speaks with them and they inform her that they know of know druid within the wood. She asks the creatures if there is some service she could perform for them and they answer that there are a group of dangerous thouls in the nearby dales which pose a threat to the natural order...
The heroes set off and quickly locate the thouls -- a strange form of trollish ghoul unknown on Oerth! After a fierce battle, the heroes destroy four of the creatures although the unicorns do warn the party that not only are there probably more, but that the local trolls provide a fairly-ready replacement supply (in addition to being threats of their own!).
