The heroes (Cliffy, Daj, Maedhros, Saanau, Bethany, Loftwyr, Ichi, Saanau, Slee, and Dobby) continue their interrogation of Khali's lover, learning:
* Khali has a 5-headed flail and a 5-tailed whip
* She can look like whatever she wants
* She normally wears platemail
* Her holy symbol has a 5-headed dragon

The heroes head down to the ruins below the floating mountain in order to look for the baby red dragon which Dajamira grounded with her improved magic missile volley to one of its wings. Due to their injuries and inability to fly Maedhros and Bethany accompanied inside Cliffy’s magical house. Slee spots the dragon's bloody trail in the distant sand, and the party heads toward it. Daj uses Slee’s ring to allow her to track from the air. Suddenly, Cliffy and Lofwyr disappear on the other side of a building. Daj pulls out her communication amulet and calls Cliffy.
Cliffy and Lofwyr, after rounding the building, are suddenly in a no-longer in a ruined city but rather a fully-functional and inhabited one! They come upon three angry-looking hill giants. The pair fly off as a boulder sails past them. They turn back, but they are still no longer in ruins. The sky mountain is gone. The river is no longer dry, and they are in a steppe rather than a desert. There are clothed skeletons wandering the streets, performing normal daily activities such as selling fish and baking bread. The two heroes look for a roof to land on and end up on the roof of a jail.
Meanwhile, Daj sees that Cliffy is in a town where there is no desert around. The rest of the party starts looking for a portal. Slee casts detect invisibility but sees nothing. Now Ichi disappears. Slee calls Saanau up with them, to make sure she doesn’t disappear as well. They discuss what might be happening.
Ichi finds himself in the town and two manticora flying toward them. He grounds himself and prepares to fight them. He finishes them off in just a few hits. He now sees skeletal people come out of nearby houses and applaud his kills. He flies away.
Lofwyr sees Ichi fly off and goes to meet him. Ichi sees the hill giants now and flies off to engage them. Lofwyr joins him. Lofwyr breathes acid on one giant and destroys its club. The heroes kill the jotuns quickly. A skeleton man comes out of the jail and attempts to speak with them, but they can’t understand him. He then turns around and walks back. Cliffy realizes that they are in the same city, but it’s just not ruined. He surmises they have time traveled.
Meantime, Daj also realizes that her missing friends are in the same city, as she can see through the amulet. They decide to fly toward where in the “other” city they are. Slee sees a hint of Cliffy, but he is not really “there.” Daj attempts to faerie fire Cliffy. It momentarily lights up Cliffy in green but goes out.
Meantime, Cliffy realizes that he has been faerie fired and the effect persists for him in the non-ruined city. Then the entire party gets faerie fired (Daj did it again). Saanau tries to touch Cliffy (where Slee indicates).
Ichi shuts his eyes and determines they are inside the most complicated illusion he’s ever seen. Everything is solid but not real, so it fools even his senses. While they’re attempting this, (from Slee’s perspective) Saanau and Dobby disappear. He attempts to touch them. Daj faerie fires Saanau and Dobby. Cliffy lands and goes into his house, except he finds himself in an infinite place full of stars. The stars twinkle at him and seem to say:
My door, my door, my beautiful door. She bleeds ten times, each an evil sore.
Once the white jewels were here embedded, only to be stolen by Tog the three-headed.
The ten pretties plus five mates were sold to the wealthy in the town who were so bold
That to insult their queen was but a joke, and each found their just reward—death’s yoke.
To them that can find but half the ten plus five will be the first to see the queen again alive.
Ten will heal the door, one to be cast in the pit. And the last will be in the crown, a queenly fit.
But beware, the jewels are as bright as they are cold, for each was built with eldritch magic of old.
A magic so powerful that it would keep the buildings intact,
Each of which should be a ruin by now, in fact.
In the distance, he sees a man holding a jeweled scepter. He stands on dais that has ten stars around it a circle.
After standing there for a while, Cliffy finally enters the house and sees Bethany and Maedhros. They step into the city. Daj spots dragon blood and they head off to track it. They run into a big blue dragon (bigger than the red they recently fought) flying overhead. It is over 100 feet long. The party scatters among the buildings.
The dragon breathes lightning at Daj and Slee. It ends up swallowing Slee and crushing Daj (but not really). They appear on the ground in the ruined city, where Saanau and Dobby see them.
Ichi attacks and Lofwyr breathes sleep gas at the blue dragon. Maedhros casts improved magic missile at the dragon. It kills Ichi, who also appears on the ground where Saanau and Dobby see him. Maedhros cast a shadow frost ball at it, doing minimal damage. Lofwyr critically hits and and kills it with an AMAZING bite!
After the dust settles, they wonder where their “disappeared” party members have gone. Bethany slices open the dragon to see if they were swallowed but finds nothing. Maedhros notices that there’s something wrong with the dragon’s anatomy.
The remaining heroes in the non-ruined city (Loftwyr, Bethany, Maedhros, and Cliffy) decide to head out of the city, toward the river. They cross the river and come to a desert. Looking back, they see the Bright Desert behind them with the sky castle above it. They turn back and regroup with the rest of the party.
Saanau teleports the party to Klarr to rest up and heal. Then Slee teleports them to Greyhawk for more healing from Ourobos.
Slee teleports himself and Cliffy (with the rest of the party in the house) back to the roof of the sky mountain, and there are two (vaguely lizardmen) specters waiting for them. Slee tosses a javelin of lightning at one and destroys it. Cliffy goes inside the house to get the party out. Slee hurls another javelin of lightning and misses.
Saanau steps out of the house. She casts improved magic missile at the specter from her gem of spell storing, killing it. Maehdros appears out of the house, nearly falls off the beam it’s perched on, and moves it to a safer spot. The rest of the party comes out.
They return to the bedroom to where Khali’s lover is. They convince him that they want to find Khali for him. He says that he thinks that something bad happened during the night. He heard screams (the lizardmen getting killed by specters). Bethany and Slee knocks the man unconscious, because he’s not cooperating. They manacle him to the bed. They find women’s clothes (they assume it’s Khali’s) and find scales and hair on them. They collect scales, hair, and clothes.
The mages take time to memorize the location. They bring the man inside the house. They place the house under a blanket on the bed and all go inside for the night.
Eeps: 1482 each
The next morning, the party goes exploring around the castle. Slee sprinkles scented talcum powder in front of the portal before they leave that area. They encounter three specters (two lizardmen, one human). They destroy them quickly and move on, continuing to search the grounds. They come upon five more specters (one lizardmen and four human) in the temple. They apparently were let out of a trapped chest that was sealed with wax. Slee’s bullova is lying there. They destroy them, but Saanau, Bethany, and Ichi have been drained of levels.
Cliffy teleports them all to Portown to look for restoration spells from the temple of Wee Jas. Sage, the High Priestess, is friends with Bethany and able to restore all of Bethany’s and Ichi’s lost levels but can’t give Saanau all of hers back. She calls on help from Moorak, who teleports there and takes her to Pope Hazem. She helps her but demands a quest: she must go to Dorakaa and kill 100 demons in one day. She can take others with her.
The heroes plan to split the party with Saanau taking Ichi and Maedhros with her and that group seeking out Torr to help them. Moorak offers to go, but realizes he cannot due to his saint-hood, he does, however, suggest the group take along his son, Major Garlok Drake while Saanau suggests bringing along Moonlight (and his Staff of Avanrakash) as well...
