Torr, remembering that the heroes (Idky, Torr, Yavin, Arthur, and Athos) were being watched, swings his holy sword to dispel the effect and also release Zayüß from the item spell and diminution potion so the warhorse can help out in the battle. The paladin also manages to dispel the stirge in Athos and one of the giant snakes. Arthur casts web down the hallway to catch the stone man, also covering Idky and Athos.
Torr gets looped by a snake but keeps his hands free. He frees himself almost immediately, killing the 30' long monster. The paladin takes some time to clear the centipedes and kill a stirge that lodged itself in Zayüß next. The stone man is starting to break through the webs toward Arthur and Yavin, who withdraw back up the stairs, yelling for Torr’s help. The stone man breaks through and comes after them.
Zayüß and Torr clear away the troglodytes, while the hasted stone man starts to attack Arthur and Yavin. Arthur casts magic missile (using his strength-draining star), blowing it to pieces. They turn to the business of tending to Yavin’s wounds.
Torr tries to dispel the webs but fails, so neither he nor Arthur nor Yavin are not quite sure how to get to Idky and Athos before they bleed out. Yavin has an idea and grabs the web with the hand with the black ring, hoping it will attenuate the spell. It doesn’t work and the cleric's hand gets stuck. Torr takes a dose of antitoxin to regain the strength that was drained by the trog stench as well as treat Zayüß' scorpion sting. He starts hacking through the webs at his end to try to reach Idky. He casts aid on the downed cleric of Fharlanghn to bring him conscious. Torr then frees Idky's acid dagger, allowing the cleric to start cutting through to reach Athos in about five or six minutes. Amazingly enough, the thief has not bled out. Idky reaches Yavin in another minute to cut him free from the web.
Torr lights the rest of the webs on fire with his flaming mace to get rid of them once all are clear. Idky uses his last 2nd level spell to cast nap on Torr, Athos, and Zayüß, using the dungeon's magical darkness to protect them. Afterwards, Athos then finds a secret door along one wall. They head down the passageway and Torr’s find traps finds a mechanical and a magical trap along it. The mechanical trap is a combination pit/pitfall. Yavin’s precognition finally pays off. He is able to determine all the details of the trap -- it's a silver-spiked pit below filled with water as well as 18 shadows and two spectres. Those hapless victims that fall in are impaled and might drown while being drained of life by the undead. But THEN the roof collapses as a deadfall as well, squishing them further onto the spikes! ABOVE this are two sepia snake sigils and an explosive runes, for those trying to bypass the fiendish mechanism...!
Torr throws a stone man’s body on the pit to set it off. It reveals a silver-tipped spiked pit full of shadows and specters. Before the block falls down, 17 shadows flow out, and then 11 more flow out. Before they get swarmed, Torr is able to turn most of them. A specter also joins them. Torr engages the specter, while Yavin engages a shadow. Idky and Arthur have sprinkled undead and spirit repellant on themselves. The other specter flows out to attack. They clear them out pretty quickly and wait for the rest to leak out, and Torr destroys them.
Shortly afterward, they feel like they’re being watched. Torr attempts unsuccessfully to dispel it. Then a spell goes off. Torr, Yavin, Arthur, Athos, and Zayüß are caught by a confusion spell. Torr has a brief moment of lucid thought and manages to dispel the dweomer on Arthur and Yavin, but not himself, Zayüß or Athos. Athos attacks Yavin.
And now ten shadows escape the pit. Three large scorpions also appear. The shadows swarm Yavin, Torr, and Athos. Idky and Arthur levitate or airwalk up to get away from the scorpions. Then a two-headed dog appears. Idky drinks his potion of mana, which gives him two spell levels back. Worthless! Athos goes down under the shadow onslaught.
Zayüß wanders away, and the dog follows him, as does a shadow. But it attacks the devil dog. The dog kills the shadow and goes after Idky, who has come down to attack scorpions. Arthur kills a scorpion with throwing daggers. Idky holds the dog’s and two scorpions’ attention, leading them away from the downed Athos.
Two more shadows ooze out. Two large, transparent gelatinous blobs appear. Yavin telepathically links into Torr to try to snap him out of the confusion. It works! Torr starts turning (destroying) shadows. Suddenly, all of the remaining foes are hasted.
One of the blobs oozes over Athos’ downed body. Torr gets rid of the rest of the shadows, and Yavin rushes over to get the blob off Athos. Meantime, Idky feels like someone’s trying to charm him. His orange cube prevents it, of course. They finish off the rest of the monsters. Zayüß has returned, so Yavin tries to break him out of the confusion. Unfortunately, Yavin now gets confused and attacks Torr. Idky brings up Athos with a cure light wounds spell. They wait for more shadows to come out, and Torr vapes them.
The heroes prep Yavin to take on the magical traps: a potion of fire resistance, bless off a scroll, and trusting in his ring that attenuates magic. Yavin gets hit by the sepia snake sigil twice and gets frozen in time. Torr tries to dispel it and fails. They run past to two large double doors. Fortunately, they are not trapped but they are wizard locked. Torr manages to dispel it. The doors pop open on a very surprised lich in his vast study. Two iron golems interpose themselves between the party and it.
Torr using his belt of alacrity rushes the lich, who jumps behind the golem. One his knocks the golem out of the way and a second blow lands on the lich. Unfortunately, this allows the golem a free shot at the paladin. The other golem breathes on everyone else. Fortunately, the poison doesn’t kill anyone. Arthur had downed a potion of destruction and unleashes it at the lich. He isn’t happy at all.
Zayüß runs up, past Idky and Athos, who are retreating and engages the golem, getting pounded to the ground for his troubles. Arthur casts stoneskin on Zayüß, who got stunned by the golem. Idky downs the other potion of destruction and unleashes it on the lich. The lich is now looking poorly. Repeating his trick a third time (golems don't learn) Torr finishes off the lich and the golems just stand guard over the undead wizard's remains.
Using the time, Torr quaffs his potion of extra-healing and casts both of his cure light wounds spells on himself.
