The heroes (Idky, Torr, Yavin, Ichi, and Arthur) flee Hecuba's lair and split into two groups: Torr, Yavin (as nightingale), Ichi (statue), and Arthur flying and Idky alone (invisible and airwalking)
Harpies attempt to charm Torr’s group and fail. Arthur magic missiles two harpies’ wings, sending one plummeting to the ground. They outdistance them . . . for now. The pair takes invisibility potion and Torr kills the harpies as they fly in. One dozen harpies in all are now dead.
The heroes arrive at the extraction point and have to survive another eleven hours before their pickup. They turn themselves invisible and airwalk around the area. They feel themselves being watched during the time.
They decide to make a cocoon with a move earth spell from Idky, in which the three spellcasters get napped to regain their spells. Two worgs start sniffing around the cocoon, but Torr distracts them and leads them off. Unfortunately, the worgs go back to the rest of their group to get help investigating.
The napped people make their way back to the clearing and to Ichi. Idky returns the monk to flesh. Torr starts returning, but with two invisible stalkers in tow. Unfortunately, four trolls, five ogres, nine bugbear, and three worgs reaches them before paladin does. Idky casts continual darkness on a stone. Ichi, still invisible, runs off to attack ogres. He activates speed as he does so.
Arthur levitates above the darkness and lines up for a lightning bolt. He kills a worg and an ogre, and stuns a troll and a bugbear. In the darkness, Yavin casts aid on himself to prepare for combat, while Idky casts prayer. Three bugbears and a worg plunge into the darkness to attack the clerics. Arthur starts magic missiling enemies outside the darkness.
Yavin (the idiot) draws his glowing sword, dispelling the darkness, and starts attacking, also activating speed. Idky stuns the worg attacking him, as he yells at Yavin for getting rid of his darkness. He tells him to go away.
Ichi takes down three trolls in rapid succession, and he sees that the clerics are swarmed so he runs over to assist. Yavin jumps away, leaving darkness behind, and he runs to slay the downed trolls with his flaming sword. Ichi quickly starts clearing out bugbears in the darkness.
Meantime, Torr arrives, with the stalkers and harpies in tow. The harpies swarm Yavin, so Torr goes to help. The invisible stalkers move in now. Ichi finishes off the monsters in the darkness, then collapses. Idky drops his darkness stone by Ichi to keep him under cover, then runs off to check on Yavin and Torr.
Arthur has a harpy on him trying to acquire him, so he lowers himself back into the darkness to hide from her.
Yavin’s speed ends, and he collapses. Torr stands over him to protect him from the harpies. They all hear something moving in the forest. Arthur lands and walks out of the darkness. Idky casts protection from evil 10’ radius, as he walks toward Torr and the stalkers. One of the stalkers moves toward him.
Three treants arrive, and more are coming. Idky casts dig and attempts to make a treant fall into a pit. It doesn’t, and clocks him. He gets him the next attack.
Arthur, invisible, moves over to Idky. Ichi now awakes and runs over to help Torr with the stalkers. He destroys one, and starts attacking treants to subdue. He causes one to fall over helpless, with a huge crack in its bark.
Arthur finishes off the last harpy with magic missiles. Torr lays hands on himself for healing. Idky bails away from the two treants who were attacking him. Unfortunately, he leads one into Arthur. Idky then runs into the darkness. Arthur and Yavin leap away, and Torr airwalks up to get out of reach.
Idky surrounds a treant in darkness, then digs a pit under it. It falls in.
Torr and Idky, using darkness, slaughter eight bugbears that show up at the end of the fight. Idky also digs holes to keep the treants immobilized for a while.
After healing up, the dimensional fold opens, and the heroes return to the priestesses, Anath and Tabet. They inform the party that they were not successful and provide them the intel that they can on Hecuba. Unfortunately, the MO for Terrax's Queen of Witches is to send invisible stalkers or worse every day until her enemies die. Worse, the witch is quite a big fan of scrying, so the heroes cannot remain in the Temple. Instead, the priestesses send the heroes on to the library they were originally seeking.
