The party (Namuhni, Bjarkmar, Greeshnak, Ziva, Fluffy, and Gilean Nyrel) are guards for a merchant caravan or individual members of the caravan. Among the dignitaries are the wizardess, Xarella Snowbird of Portown, the High Priestess of Wee Jas and various merchants. During the night, someone screams. The caravan is being attacked by mustard-colored lizard-like creatures.
During the battle, a little girl, Rose, joins the heroes and tries to protect "Mom's friend, Xarella." As the party kills the creatures, they turn to stone. They get swarmed, as more and more fly in each round. Greeshnak and Fluffy go down.
The wizardess, Xarella, gets overwhelmed and dimension doors to safety. A couple of the creatures go looking around for the missing half-elf. One starts rummaging through her wagon, searching for a tablet.
As several go down, Rose gets overwhelmed and starts backing away from the fight. She shortly recovers, though, and runs over to bandage the downed Bjarkmar and Fluffy (unsuccessfully). Ziva follows up with a cure light to Bjarkmar, bringing him back to consciousness.
Finally, the heroes manage to kill off the last of their opponents.
Xarella tells them that they were after a tablet in the Tuskar language talks about the lost city of Leum in the Bright Desert. Gilean is aware of it. It’s an ancient Suloise settlement destroyed by the Bakluns in the Invoked Devastation. It provides directions to the city, but only someone familiar with the Desert would understand the instructions.
Treasure from the draconians:
228 cp
209 sp
108 gp
Eeps: 463 each
Sage thinks it’s strange, because the person the draconians serve (Kahli) should know where Leum is without the tablet. The heroes take a rubbing of the tablet, just in case.
As they approach Greyhawk, a fireball goes off on the rear wagon. And four more draconian swoop in, along with an orangey-colored draconian. Xarella casts a strength spell on Rose. Bjarkmar and Fluffy take out one draconian.
The orangey one licks an arrow and shoots Ziva with it. It almost paralyzes her. Rose stays by her to protect her. Namuhni gets swarmed and stunned. Rose decides to go help him out, while Gilean runs up to the orangey one to keep it from shooting poisoned arrows.
Namuhni goes down. Gilean kills his, which turns into a pool of acid and gets burned by it. Eventually, they are down to just Rose and Bjarkmar against an orange and a yellow one. The orange one is waiting for an opportunity to shoot an arrow. Bjarkmar kills the last yellow one but gets stuck for his trouble. The little girl manages to keep the remaining (badly wounded) draconian distracted.
Ziva brings up Namuhni, who pops the last orange one. Unfortunately, Rose, who is standing next to it, gets caught in the acid puddle. Ziva pulls her out and heals her. Namuhni follows up with more healing.

Sage invites the whole party into her home in the Garden Quarter, and they spend the night there.
Eeps: 593
While there, Gilean contacts a friend to get a better translation of the tablet. It talks about the lost jewels. One is held by someone called the Skota. There are fifteen in total. Five make the greater pentagram, and five make the lesser pentagram. One to set it in time, one to set it in place, and three to control it. Of those, all but the Skota’s are free. The city used to be next to the Black River, which is no more...
But what does it all mean...?
