The party (MiHo, Polynikes, Rose, Sarkon, Cedric, Balthazar, Sonja, Stalking Wolf, Kevin, and Aeona) slept the night within the underground lair after searching the drow bodies for loot and weapons. While searching, they found another prison cell, this one containing the paantar, Bjorkmar, who'd also been caught in the curse in Greyhawk. In the middle of the night, Rose had a magical dream from her uncle, warning her to be safe and careful; he and Rose's mother would attempt a rescue the following evening.
The next day, the group searched more of the first level, discovering some huge vulture-headed lion guarding the exit to a massive audience hall. Several volleys of missiles were required for a single one to hurt the monster which shrieked and disappeared from sight. The party decided to search the lower level instead...
On the lower level, the group quickly met and fought three emaciated trolls. Amazingly, the heroes quickly made short work of the monster, mostly thanks to Polynikes' excellent fighting skills. Unfortunately, the noise disturbed four gargoyles roosting across the way. These monsters proved far more difficult to kill and quickly the group was fighting for their lives. Sonja managed to bandage individual after individual, but the monsters proved too much. Nearly everyone fell, except for Sonja, Stalking Wolf and Kevin. A curse-hex caused one monster to fall to the level below while an earlier spell put another gargoyles to sleep. After tending to the wounded, the gypsy tried to kill the sleeping monsters before it awoke, but lacked the skill to do the job well. When the final gargoyle arrived, it attacked and killed the gypsy. Kevin ran and Rose taunted the gargoyle to chase her...across the spiked pit which the little girl was too light to trigger!
Ultimately, enough of the heroes recovered to withdraw to the earlier room above. While resting there, first one and then another ghast arrived, no doubt stirred up from the lower levels by the earlier gargoyle. The heroes defeated the monsters quite narrowly.
The next evening Black Robe and Moorak arrived via dream voyage. The pair explained the heroes were lost in the Underdark, in the remnants of a drow noble house aligned with the Spider-Queen. Gathering the party together, the Baron and shaman then teleported back to the surface -- the city of Dragondale in the fief of Amberwood.
