The heroes (Cliffy, Dion, Mikhail, Dajamira, Helga, Bob, Anwar, River, and Moonlight) went to sleep on the 5th. In the middle of the night, the heroes heard of an assault by the nabasu (demon) which had earlier escaped the party. Svala and Minosti went to deal with it, allowing the rest of the party to sleep.
In the morning, Mikhail and Moonlight slipped away and when the two druids returned, the younger one began to openly use his psionic talents to heal the various heroes and then meditate. As the day progressed, Mikhail managed to greatly restore nearly all the party members to near-full strength. By the late afternoon, the group put together an attack strategy and around 8pm, the heroes -- now finally healed by Mikhail -- gathered to attack.
Helga cast a lighten load on the group and half piled into Cliffy's bag of holding while most of the rest climbed into Mikhail's. Moonlight and Mikhail each assumed snake form and then the younger druid touched Bob and...nothing happened. After several moments, Mikhail resumed human form, confused as to why he couldn't teleport in snake form. Despite this set back, he teleported the group into one of the hallways in the second level, effectively bypassing the guardians near the cavern entrance...and allowing the heroes to continue their assault on the orcs' underground bunker/caverns..
The heroes first battle ten hill giants, doing quite well thanks to the jotun's lack of tactics and Bob, Helga, and Daj's fighting ability (in that order!) as well as River's WITHERING arrow fire! Meanwhile, over a dozen orogs charged but a single lighting bolt from Cliffy vaporized nearly all of them, with only four surviving. That's when a hezrou armed with an unusual longsword and a silver knife appeared and attacked. Anwar and Moonlight with Mikhail's psionic aid, however, drove the demon away.
The heroes searched the second level, battling several other groups of orogs and a couple of ogres too. During the search, Helga used her find traps to reveal several pitfalls and the like. Cliffy and Anwar would then disable the threat. Unfortunately, at one point, Anwar completely failed to locate the trap and fell through an illusionary floor. Falling to the level below, the holy slayer found himself facing two trolls. Daj jumped through the illusionary floor grabbed onto a rope that Bob tossed down, protecting the Zakharan from a nasty death...until the trolls started to hack the young half-dryad as well! Bob leaped down just as the wraith showed up, but the doughty fighter made QUICK work of the undead while Daj, Anwar, and Cliffy's spells finished the trolls. Which was when another hezrou arrived, but quickly fell to Bob. Mikhail stone shaped a ladder and the group climbed out, including one-handed Bob.
The heroes finished searching all of the second level and are trying to decide their next move...
