The party finds and goes through the troll treasure
Treasure:
Fine Silver elven longsword set with diamonds
Elven coins: 150 PP, 611 GP, 321 SP, 1128 CP
Spellbook: ventriloquism, mirror image, magic mouth, rope trick, suggestion, fireball
Spell tome: fire shield, dispel, cont light, wall of fire, witch fire, lightning bolt, gust of wind, ice storm, water breathing, haste, fear, invisibility, enchant weapon
Spell tome: conjure elemental, enchant armor, levitate, control weather, charm monster, mass sleep, hold person, knock, phant force, rock to mud, heroism
Silver tube--Scroll
Lowdog grabs the flaming battleaxe out of the wall
Spell tome: read magic, charm person, silver tongue, impotence, ecstasy, influence, jealousy, kiss of slavery, resist charm, love spell
Scroll: raise dead, disrupt unlife, purify food & drink
As Stephan reads a scroll (cursed), two bullettes appear.
Lowdog attacks one and Torr attacks another while Idky starts casting prayer.
Torr’s protection keeps the bullettes at bay until he attacks, effectively saving Stephan's life. Lowdog, wielding the newly-found fiery battleaxe, severs the leg of one of the monsters and the assassin/mage fades invisible (since he's still badly hurt from the battle with the trolls). Torr kills one bullette and Yavin mind thrusts Lowdog’s allowing Torr to land the killing blow on the second one also.
After spending some time healing up and looking at magic items, the heroes continue their search in a spiral pattern outward.
After a while, Yavin says he thinks they’ve come upon the helm. Unfortunately, the equipment has been too damaged and doesn’t work. But clearly, there is evidence that an elven spell-jammer crashed on Etheria many centuries ago.
In a couple hours, Lowdog and Zayüß realize they are being stalked. Yavin tries to locate it telepathically, but can’t. Then a black panther with indigo wings steps out and looks at the party. Yavin makes telepathic contact with it. It seems happy that the group has killed trolls in its forest and quite curious about the group. After a brief telepathic communion, the winged pather starts nuzzling Yavin. It seems to like him and wants to be with the party (they can kill trolls, have food, and can communicate!).
The heroes leave the forest and set up camp and give the winged panther something to eat.
The next morning, they set off to continue their mission, still down in the rift. The group then encounters half-elves who order them to leave the area. After a brief discussion with their leader, Calliope, the party leaves the rift and camp out on the tundra. The next morning, the half-elven princess Isadora comes with her retinue
With them is Goldwing and a gold dragon. They reiterate their demand that they leave, and the rift edge is also their domain. The "valkyries" have a real fear that the heroes (all male and all "round ears") will somehow upset their society and way of life.
With some guidance from Isadora and her warriors, the party knows the direction to the next rift and set out across the ice and snow. About halfway across the tundra, a polar worm bursts out of the snow. It attacks the snow leopard but Yavin mind thrusts it. Stephan casts fly on himself and darts up. The winged panther (Eclipse) takes off, not interested in battling something so out of its league. Idky sets up behind it and backstabs it and Lowdog lands the killing blow.
After a total of 23 days, they come to the next rift and see an icy castle of green snow.
