On the previous day (aka Jan 2nd) a group of heroes assembled to help break the orcish lines in Furyondy. Sir Anastasia StrongArm commanded the original mission, but was forced to relinquish her leadership role to attend to other threats. Thus, a group of elite skirmishers including Moonlight (7th lvl druid), Cliffy Swiftfoot (6th/7th elven mage/thief), Dion (8th lvl cleric of Apollo), Mikhail (6th lvl druid...and psi) with Пётр (aka Piotr the dire wolf), and Dajamira (6th/6th half-dryad ranger/mage) were joined by Helga (6th/7th dwarven fighter/cleric), Bob (6th lvl ox-er-fighter), Jay (4th lvl fighter) with Drake, Minasti (4th lvl riddlemaster), and Anwar (4th lvl holy slayer of Haku...and psi) and on the morning of the 2nd, again attacked the orcish lines with the goal of breaking through their defenses and attacking their underground base.
The initial assault went fairly well, although Cliffy fell into a spiked pit. The other heroes charged to the elf's rescue while the druids used a combination of entangle, spike growth, and plant growth to create barriers of deadly brambles (sometimes with orcs and orogs IN them) to focus and shape the combat. The heroes did quite well, killing over 100 orcs as well as dozens of manes and many orogs and ogres.
Unfortunately, in the melee, a mane managed to tear off Bob's left hand at the wrist. And Cliffy, AFTER falling in the pit and AFTER falling out of a tree, was telekinetically grabbed into the air and then fell onto a cliff which he rolled off of and fell further, breaking his ribs in 47 places. A cure serious wounds spell from Dion knitted most of the damage, although there are still eight weak spots the elf must be careful of...
The heroes have taken the field and did a QUICK scan for treasure finding....
a MAGIC orange gem -- evocation
a white potion that smells like chocolate
a gray potion that smells like beer
a small hourglass -- powerful alteration
a small log cabin miniature -- alteration
a silver longsword -- +1 with another bonus vs something else
an iron longsword with runes -- +1 with another bonus
a rosewood lute -- alteration
a wooden box (1'x1/2'x1/2') -- two flavors of alteration
a small cache of SEVEN scrolls (these were on the orcish cleric that got squished in the initial spiky-plant-entangle-of-doom)
Eeps were 1542xps each. You didn't really have time for more than a handful of coins each (unless you want to mess up your mission -- remember, Moonlight and Cliffy used SPELLS to get this treasure and many of you are currently BLEEDING and need to be tended to...HINT, HINT!)
