Well, we decided to take a walk on the Arabian side, so reset and made new characters for a campaign (except for Eric, who dusted off a summoner from an earlier campaign).
We had the usual anti-party rhetoric and squabbling, which is sad.
The group were asked to assist a fisherman who had captured a magical fish after a concerned citizen had tossed it into a well to "save the talking fish". We determined we could enter the town water supply through an abandoned and boarded-up bathhouse.
We entered after some more lack of teamwork and had to break through a brick wall before learning that most of the party cannot swim. After some wasted time, one of the swimmers in the party did a little exploration then shuttled one person to the deeper waterways as the party was attacked by giant centipedes.
The party killed off the bugs, but two characters were poisoned. They proved to be very allergic to the poison as they failed 7-10 saves in a row throughout the remainder of the gameplay. While further exploring, we came upon a crone in a storage room with the missing fish on display. She was talking in backward English which was annoying. Eric's character (Robert Smith) took the fish and turned to leave and was transformed into a fish for his efforts.
We finally negotiated doing three favors for the crone in exchange for the fish. Two were easy and accomplished immediately. The third was to deliver a letter to her sister. We got the letter and took our leave and returned the talking fish to the ocean where it turned into a mermaid named Selana or something - my notes are in the car. She was grateful and asked her friend to return Robert Smith to human form and gave the group a sea basket filled with oysters and muscles. The gift was forwarded to the fisherman in place of the fish we were to return.
We called it a day at that point and will do the letter delivery next week.
