On the morning of the 17th, Moorak returns from Oerth with a now-restored Torr and Yavin. Treblo studies from his spell book and casts transmute stone to flesh on Lowdog and 'Beaver. The heroes (Torr with Zayüß, Idky, Ichi, Squattingbeaver, Lowdog, Yavin, and Stephan) then discuss about how to take care of Maedhros. Moorak makes a few comments to Treblo during this discussion and Stephan's comments about masculinity lead Treblo to join the party in order to help them out recovering Maedhros AND to use his rare magic item to hold the half-elf's shadow-soul.
Moorak, meanwhile teleports Stephan and Yavin to the edge of space so Yavin can cast raise dead on Stephan. Unfortunately, Stephan's body doesn't react well to the spell and he requires a full day to rest.
Discussions with the princess (including some influence from Moorak) lead to Aurora accompanying the group to help save Maedhros. She also hopes they will afterward help defeat Sidra and "save the villagers". Meanwhile, Yavin decides to stay behind in the village to protect it from "wind demons". Moorak teleports back to Oerth, but agrees to keep tabs on the party.
Lowdog gets a dream the night before the trip to Louisville -- he sees the site of Maedhros' 'death' and finds out that the half-elf's shadow is lurking around the site of his death waiting to kill his former party...
On the 18th, the party teleports without error into the middle of 18 ghouls. Unfortunately, because of Treblo's weight limitations and despite Idky's lighten load, Zayüß, Ichi, and Stephan were itemized. Battling the ghouls, Idky casts prayer while 'Beaver (in hummingbird form) flies out of harm's way. Lowdog moves to protect Treblo and Aurora starts shooting ghouls, destroying one.
The ghouls swarm in, and one even starts shooting at the hummingbird. Aurora gets shot in the chest and goes down.
Treblo casts a lightning bolt from one of his wands, destroying three ghouls. Torr dusts all the remainder but one which Lowdog takes out with minimal effort. Idky brings up the princess.

'Beaver had already cast warpaint vs shadows on himself, Lowdog, Idky, and Stephan. Now the shaman changes back to human form after the battle. Lowdog and 'Beaver cast detect invisibility so they can notice Maedhros' shadow's ears. 'Beaver casts invisibility to spirit on Aurora and Ichi. Stephan casts bullet blink on princess.
As 'Beaver is casting speak with greater spirit, eleven ghouls wander up. Stephan webs them as they approach, but three get through. Treblo rushes to engage them and Zayüß river dances on one. Torr keeps getting distracted... All the ghouls swarm poor Treblo but Torr dusts all of them.
'Beaver talks to the spirit of the city to get Maedhros' location--he's two blocks away hunting a rat or mouse. The spirit agrees to bring Maedhros' shadow to the heroes in exchange for them staying in the city for a day to kill as many "unclean spirits" and other undead as possible.
Twenty minutes pass and six shadows appear. Idky sees and sounds an alarm, then airwalks up out of the way. 'Beaver instructs everyone to kill these shadows, as the city's spirit hasn't identified any of them as Maedhros. Treblo casts shock bolt at a shadow, nearly destroying it. Lowdog takes out one of his blades and Idky airwalks over to help out Stephan with his shadow as 'Beaver gets swarmed by two.
'Beaver kills one of his shadows and Lowdog takes out his second shadow. Ichi helps out Stephan too and Torr kills Beaver's last shadow. Treblo kills his shadow and Ichi kills the final one.
Ten minutes later 18 ghouls show up. Stephan webs them and only two make it through the spell. Aurora blows one away with magic missiles. Zayüß attacks and kills the last one. Once he notices the undead (clearly, Torr's mind wasn't on the mission), the paladin dusts the webbed ghouls
Fifteen minutes later, four shadows show up and attack. Stephan moves to help out Treblo, as does Lowdog. Ichi and Torr go to help out Zayüß. 'Beaver helps out with Idky's shadow and the heroes make quick work of the lot.
Forty minutes, five ghouls. Torr turns four, leaving one, which is quickly dispatched. Later four more ghouls, which Torr dusts without any effort.
Two harpies show up, which Treblo sleeps, sending them plunging to their deaths.

'Beaver goes to stand next to Maedhros' shadow to identify it. Idky faerie fires Maedhros's shadow and tells everyone NOT to attack it, which slightly confuses the paladin...
Treblo casts lightning bolt at a line of shadows, destroying five and badly damaging one. Aurora casts hold undead but only catches one, not Maedhros! Instead, Maedhros' shadow verbally abuses 'Beaver as it attacks.
Aurora magic missiles Treblo's shadows, taking one out. Treblo takes care of the remaining two with his own magic missiles. Beaver calls Treblo over. The mage pulls out a small golden "bird cage", speaks a word and the shadow-spirit of Maedhros is sucked into the object.
2 hours 20 min later, 11 ghouls show up. Torr dusts one
Treblo fireballs the lot of them, destroying them all. 'Beaver decides to cast call lightning.
An hour later, Torr dusts 6 ghouls. Half hour later, 5 ghouls. Torr doesn't see them -- for a man with dragon senses and alertness, Torr is badly distracted. Ichi jumps to attack and gets three of them on him. The other two go for 'Beaver. Torr dusts them next round.

40 minutes later, ten shadows arrive. 'Beaver calls down lightning and Treblo lightning bolts, killing them all. Later, four ghouls show up and Torr vapes them.

A few mintues later, six more shadows. Those who notice form a fighting line. Treblo casts shock bolt at one. Lowdog helps out Idky, destroying one shadow. Torr runs to help out Stephan, destroying that shadow. Ichi and Treblo annihilate the last one.
Four more shadows, which are quickly dispatched.
The day ends. Treblo casts Leomund's Secure Shelter in the middle of the square and 'Beaver casts ward spirits
