In the morning of the 23rd of May, Torr has an idea--since we're no longer quested, let's go save Maedhros! A quick discussion amongst the party (Torr with Zayüß, Ichi, Idky, Squattingbeaver, Lowdog, Yavin, Stephan, plus Aurora) debunks that idea. Instead, the heroes decide to wait around for a roc to show up.
On the third morning of waiting, six ghouls sneak up to the party.
Stephan tells Zayüß to charge the ghouls, while he wakes up Lowdog. The warhorse has other things in mind and defends his sleeping master. Lowdog snaps awake and readies his weapons. Meanwhile, Zayüß attempts to wake up Torr. The paladin also snaps awake and with a single gesture of his holy sword dusts all of the ghouls.
Searching bodies reveals:
potion: healing
Potion: x-ray vision
Scroll: lightning bolt, fireball
Apple
Scroll: cursed, medusa
gold ring 400 gp
silver tiara 1300 gp
Stephan opens a cursed scroll and transforms into a medusa, turning Yavin, Beaver, Lowdog, Torr to stone! Idky immediately airwalks up and away from the medusa. Ichi closes his eyes and charges the medusa and stuns her. He then puts a bag over her head and knocks Stephan-with-green-scales-boobs-and-snakes-for-hair out. The monk then goes to Aurora to get her to lower the guns. The idiot overreacts and shoots Ichi in the hand! Idky yells that it's Ichi, but the bitchy princess shoots again, scared and unable to understand Common. An altercation leads to Ichi nearly knocking her out...
Idky casts remove curse on the unconscious medusa, and it returns to Stephan. Ichi ties the purple bandana on his backpack, hoping Treblo will show up soon...
A little while later, 17 ghouls come at the group. Idky casts prayer. Ichi drinks his potion of lightning breath. Aurora casts hold undead, catching two ghouls.
The ghouls swarm. Stephan, totally oblivious to the threat, goes down, near death. Ichi jumps over to help out the downed mage.
Aurora also goes down, and Zayüß heads over to help her out after destroying one of his ghouls. Idky airwalks up and out of reach.
Ichi gets swarmed and one ghoul starts gnawing on Stephan. Idky drops a globe of darkness over the whole combat. Zayüß takes advantage of the darkness and takes out the ghoul on Stephan.
Ichi starts plowing through ghouls, since he can see in the magical darkness. Idky casts dig and causes two ghouls to fall into a pit. Aurora steps out of the darkness and casts Melf's acid arrow at one of the warhorse's ghouls, whining that she "always has to save the stupid horse".
Zayüß gets dropped by the ghouls on him. Aurora magic missiles two ghouls, destroying one. The two ghouls who fell into the pit, start climbing out. Ichi kills one of them, and the other falls back in as Idky continues digging.
Aurora goes down, and Idky starts digging a pit under one of her ghouls. It falls in. Ichi runs over to help out princess and kills the remaining ghoul threatening her. The monk then runs over to clear the ghoul on Zayüß. Finished with those ghouls, Ichi runs back to get the undead in the darkness that just crawled out of the pit near Aurora. One remaining ghoul falls into another pit and the monk sets about "cleaning up the garbage". Idky heals the party...

Several hours later, they see a roc in the distance. It starts circling at 600-700 feet away but ends up flying away.
Eeps: 3323 each
That day and the next pass uneventfully.
Two days later, in the middle of day with Idky on watch, four ghouls show up. Idky screams out and goes to wake up Ichi. All but Stephan wake up and move to attack. The heroes make short work of the undead.
Eeps: 270 each
Two more days later, Stephan on watch, sees a pack of wolves approaching. He wakes up Ichi, who wakes up everyone else. Idky tries to speak with them and charms the pack leader.
Aurora puts them to sleep and shoots them in cold blood, sparking an argument with Idky.
Later, Ichi notices a spirit entity walk up to the party, toward Stephan. Idky notices and casts protection from evil, 10' to hedge it off. From within the warded barrier, Idky casts aid on Ichi. The ekkimu howls, but only Zayüß runs in fear -- the horse is WAY too fast for the undead spirit to catch!
Ichi starts attacking the ekimmu from the edge of the protected area as Idky casts prayer. Ichi damages it, but it runs away. Zayüß returns a couple minutes later.
The next two days pass uneventfully. On the 3rd of June (on Oerth), two harpies fly around. They start singing, but no one is susceptible. Aurora shoots them and one falls to its death. Ichi flies on his broom, catching and killing the other.
Two nights later, the ekimmu returns. Idky casts protection from evil 10' again. The undead spirit howls, causing fear in Stephan and Zayüß. The warhorse is still too fast for the ekimmu, but Stephan is not...! The spirit runs after Stephan and Ichi and Idky also give chase. Ichi gives the spirit a good whack with his magic staff but it possess the monk for his efforts!
Seeing this, Idky casts abjure on Ichi to see if it will help. It doesn't. Zayüß returns (this time the fear was short-lived for the warhorse). Aurora says they need to kill Ichi since it's nearly impossible to exorcise such a spirit but Idky (naturally!) objects...!
"Ichi" attacks Aurora with his staff, seriously wounding her.
Idky digs a pit behind "Ichi," causing him to fall in. He leaps back out, and Aurora keeps shooting the monk. Idky keeps digging, causing him to fall back in. "Ichi" again starts climbing out. Idky continues to dig the pit bigger to a final depth of 30'. Stephan returns and casts web, trapping "Ichi"in the pit.
After much deliberation, the party burns the webs and Aurora starts shooting at "Ichi". One bullet strikes the monk in the head; he falls into a heap, lying helpless at the bottom of the pit. Idky airwalks down and checks vital signs: probably brain damaged and definitely stunned!
Idky brains the monk and drops him unconscious. Another heal check: possible brain damage, skull broken, concussed, at 0 hit points...Idky clocks him again for good measure. The cleric then ties a rope around the monk's body and has Zayüß drags him out, causing more damage...(remind me NEVER to let you watch any of my kids or me when I'm sick!)
Stephan uses bullet blink to remove the two bullets in the monk's body. Between Idky and Stephan, they bring the monk to a stable coma at -2 hit points...but he has an accelerate healing on him too...
So, on the evening of the 617 / 6 / 5, the party (Idky and Stephan with Aurora and Zayüß) contemplate their next move...
Idky: 57 of 62, cast aid / prayer / prot E, abjure, dig
Stephan: 34 (full), cast cantripx2
Aurora: 26 (full), down to 9 bullets
Ichi: -2 and in a "medical" (assassin and cleric) coma while possessed by the malevolent spirit of an ekimmu (a spirit so wicked it was not allowed to enter the afterlife)
