Important "unfinished business" from the last game: As Sqauttingbeaver hands the bloodstone-talisman back to Ichi, Aine senses a shift in the ley lines around the two men and general area. When the monk gives it back to the shaman, she sees the ley lines get affected again. As a result, 'Beaver holds onto the talisman.
The heroes (Torr with Zayüß, Ichi, Squattingbeaver, Lowdog, Yavin, Stephan, Aine with Dresher, plus Aurora) then set about dividing up Maedhros' possessions, although Torr REPEATEDLY states that this is "just temporary, until we get him back." There is a minor "altercation" between Idky and Zayüß, resulting in casting of precipitation
On the train ride, the party asks Treblo to cast legend lore twice (for powers and history) of the talisman:
Powers: the bloodstone-talisman was specifically designed to link Tovag Baragu gate to eight other realities so it can be more effectively and ably used; it should stabilize the connections between Oerth and those eight worlds, although cause a few rarely-contacted worlds to be "lost". Meanwhile, transferring the amulet from one person to another after it has a bloodstone will reset it, and you have to start all over again
History: made by mage-priests of Vecna to set Tovag Baragu in a specific dimensional alignment. If all goes correctly it will access: Charn, Etheria, Terrax (tons of orcs), Kyrie, Torsh (green sky, no moon, lots of reptiles), Taja, Kaiousei, (and some other world the DM didn't name -- PLEASE disregard any meta-gaming speak about universe numbers), Oerth. Treblo adds that the unnamed world is now part of Ravenloft, specifically the Domain of Dreams, and it was chosen specifically for this fact. Each of those worlds is SPECIFICALLY in a different universe.
The heroes (including, still, Treblo, who's using the time to scry BlackRobe on his "snow globe") take the train to the Great Chasm (Charn's 'Grand Canyon'). On the ride, Stephan teaches Aurora read magic -- DM SCREW UP -- she KNOWS the spell and just needed a copy, so Aurora does now have read magic and can start learning spells out of the various spell books in the party's possession. I think it's VITALLY important that we handle this BEFORE the next game (via this forum, David?). Stephan shows Treblo bullet blink, but the mage is not entirely impressed.
The party crosses to the southern side of the chasm and camps out in train till morning in the car. Stephan points out that the Angel Coins that have been holding the bridge up are failing and the bridge is ready to crash to the ground, weakened further by the train's crossing. Treblo takes Maedhros' preserved body and teleports without error back to Oerth, but first Ichi pays the mage for fly spells for Aine, Lowdog, and Zayüß (with Torr on the horse's back). Ichi flies along on his broom while these party members accompany Aine who fixes several of the coins on the bridge by casting cantrips on them.
Almost entirely (99%) of the way across, the four encounter a roc. The remainder of the group is too far behind to do anything and the huge creature is merely a "spec" in the distance.
The roc goes for the horse and Torr airwalks in front of Zayüß while Ichi and Lowdog charge. All three connect. Aine creates an illusionary gargoyle to attack also. After just this initial assault, the roc can no longer fly and plummets to the ground on the northern edge of the Chasm. Before it can do any harm, Torr finishes it off. 'Beaver, seeing from a distance sort of what's going on, turns into a hummingbird to fly over, but Torr killed the monster too quickly and its lifeblood is wasted. The hummingbird beats Torr's head with its wings in 'punishment'.
The party regroups on the north side of the Chasm and waits for another roc. Aurora learns cantrip and sets about fixing some more magic coins. By the afternoon, a 'refugee' shows up--a man in chaps and a leather vest. 'Beaver, however, can tell it's a demon. Torr, Ichi, Lowdog, and Zayüß charge as the man becomes a gallu demon.
The gallu demon can't attack Torr because of his protection from evil, so it leaps over them and goes for Aine. The stoneskin the witch bought from Treblo saves her from a NASTY critical hit (hemothorax and broken ribs), but her right arm is pinned. Aine attacks back with her dagger but misses the fiend.
Stephan casts grease on Aine, causing the demon to drop her. Lowdog, Ichi, Torr hit and bring the gallu-demon a hair's breadth from death. It dimension doors 210' away, but Lowdog spies it and using his broom, Ichi zooms over. Idky dimension doors behind the demon and backstabs it, splattering demon guts on Ichi

The shaman uses his magical pearl to clear the weather and the party camps out over night under the stars (Yavin gets a boner).
The next day, ten shadows attack the group from the other side of bridge. Aine faerie fires seven of them as they come in. 'Beaver calls out "Shadows!" and rushes to the line. Yavin casts flameblade and joins the melee. Stephan activates robe of flames and rushes to help out Torr (really?).
Zayüß draws a shadow over to Torr, who attacks and pops it. During the battle, Aurora casts magic missile on Idky's shadow.
The heroes steadily whittle their way through the shadows, as they rob strength from some of the party. When they get down to one shadow, Torr practices his turning, as Beaver and Idky prepare to unturn it. Yavin lands the the killing blow with his flameblade. He enjoys mock applause from the group as that was the ONLY time during the combat the the High Priest of Celestian landed a blow...although he was complaining to 'Beaver the whole time about how much he could use the shaman's gloves of strength...
Later, 16 ghouls come up. Torr dusts eleven as they approach. Yavin attempts to telepathically lock onto Aurora but fails. The group set up to take the charge, but Torr dusts them the next round.
