Howdy folks! There are a number of PCs out there holding positions which require occasional battles to maintain, including monks, druids, kensai, etc. While games usually revolve around a PC finding an NPC and claiming the NPCs level by a one-on-one battle, it's logical to assume that PCs can be victim to the reverse -- that an NPC wants THEIR position. Cuz I've never really done this (other than to Tetsuko), I'm going to have a series of "catch up" battles for all such title/position holders. If your name does NOT appear in the list and you hold such a position, well, you need to tell me cuz otherwise I'll just make the fight harder later... Gamoth of Ki -- fight for 12th lvl druid slot in the Eastern Circle Tetsuko no Kuwahara -- kensai level 10 battle Wing Cho Tan -- kensai level 8 battle Shang-Lung Drake -- Scarlet Brotherhood challenge for 8th lvl monk Ichi -- Scarlet Brotherhood challenge for 8th lvl monk (gets a by cuz he JUST got there) Ken Mu -- Tamra Wing -- kensai level 3 battle ANY AND ALL OTHER KENSAI (Ray?) Who wants to volunteer to play any of these other fighters?

Gordon, who do you have who is a PC that is required to capture or hold a title? Isaac is an archer and Dion is a cleric, so they're both good.
Jeff, yes, you can make an new NPC to battle the PC in question. Which one would you like to do?
The BASIC rules are you roll up a character PER REINCARNATION -- 3d6, reroll ones, IN ORDER. Instead of +1 per stat, you get +1 per level to any stat, but it still takes TWO points to push a 17 to an 18. And you are REQUIRED to use these points to qualify for your class first and foremost. In none of these fights are magical items allowed, so that won't be an issue, although special abilities are okay (expensive, but okay). You may NOT spike for psionics!
If you're making one of the Scarlet Brotherhood monks, you have slightly modified rules. To simulate the "Soviet Style" educational process and "über-Nazi" breeding program, Brotherhood monk NPCs are allowed to swap INT or CHR for STR, DEX, or WIS but MUST still meet all minimums (15 STR, WIS, DEX, 13 PER, 11 CON). Oh, and while psionics are normally NOT allowed in a monkish duel, the Brotherhood certainly would NOT disqualify someone who had SUBTLE powers (enhance strength, body weapontry, accelerate, etc). Also the pro-psionic breeding program means that a monk COULD put (at this level) up to TWO points into psionics (although that's still a long-shot so I wouldn't advice it).
