Mikhail convinces the group to return to the dwarven city and recover the Rod of Balance. There heroes have no trouble getting to the entry-gate and there's no sign of the red dragon or draconians. Starglow knocks the main gate open and the heroes set about exploring. They encounter giants spiders, derro, shadows, and even a lone drow priestess who suggests Mikhail "engages" three black puddings, leading to that battle as well. In the end, the heroes bed down for the night within the dwarven city-fortress and in the morning they're at:
