The heroes (Maedhros, Torr, Idky, Squattingbeaver, Lowdog, Aine with Dresher, Stephan, and Yavin) decide to recover the wizard shackles the necromancer skull pointed out to 'Beaver. Unfortunately, after two dispel magics to remove the magical trap on the case, when Lowdog finally reached for the manacles, they came to live and tried to grab the totemic warrior. A brief discussion revealed that no one in the party is without some form of magical ability and thus no one can safely carry or use the shackles...!
The heroes continue on, with Stephan taking point. Using his ring to see witch magic, the assassin is able to navigate the hallways fairly safely. The group triggers a glyph that causes green slime to rain down from the ceiling, but Torr confidently strides up and cures disease on the goo, killing it. A light roasting with his flaming mace takes on the small survive splatter than wasn't cause by his paladin ability. Farther along, the group encounters a black pudding, but avoid that passage and continues further up into the crystal ziggeraut.
Finally, the group has nearly reached the highest floor of the transluscent structure. There, they encounter a magical aura that triggers antipathy in Stephan and Aine, preventing them from entering. Within is a teenage girl sleeping on a royal bed in the center of a massive chamber lit by a purple glow. More dispel magics do no good in removing the dweomer so the other heroes enter. That's when the three glabrezu apprear and attack!
The heroes fairly quickly destroy the type III demons and with them dead, remove the spell on the girl. It is Princess Aurora, the rightful ruler of Caspar (the Northern Kingdom of Charn). The girl is exhasperated with 'Beaver's attitude and tries first to sleep and then charm person the shaman. Using his psionic gift of ESP and Yavin's talent for sending, the pair explain the situation to the 3rd lvl bard/arrogant girl. Aurora does reveal that Sidra cannot allow Aurora to come to harm, either through action or omission of action.
