As the heroes (Maedhros, Torr, Idky, Squattingbeaver, Lowdog, Aine with Dresher, Stephan, and Yavin) sleep, Squattingbeaver receives dream message from Turquoise Rain, begging for help. He dream messages back, asking her to build a fire in a cave somewhere outside Clavell.
The group then heads back toward Calvados, carrying the greatly-weakened Maedrhos. Half a day from Marthasville, the party encounter twelve shadows coming at the group, in broad daylight. Torr and Lowdog rush them, as Yavin and Aine faerie fire the lot of the undead. 'Beaver stands guard over Maedhros, and Stephan calls up a spirit prayer. Aine creates two phantasmal ogres, that she sends after the shadows and Idky sundazzles eight of the monster. Although Stephan and Yavin also run to the front line, one shadow gets through. So 'Beaver moves to intercept the undead and protect Maedhros. Ultimately, however, the heroes make short work of these regular shadows, destroying all twelve
The next day, the party sees three gargoyles flying about five miles away. The creatures spy the group and charge. The party huddles up as 'Beaver casts thunderdrum, causing them to fly away in fear. The foolish gargoyles return half hour later. 'Beaver casts thunderdrum again, which causes them to fall to their deaths
Reach Calvados on the third evening, the group makes contact with the villagers there. The people say they have been troubled by invisible stalkers, carrying off people. The resident shaman begs the party to stay. That night, the next dream message from Turquoise Rain says she's afraid that Sidra has been collecting people as sacrifices for some powerful spell
In the morning, the party, still benefitting from Idky's easy march spell continues on to Nashborough.
That afternoon, an invisible stalker approaches and attempts to grab Maedhros. Aine faerie fires the elemental being while 'Beaver attempts hold monster, but it fails to do anything. Ironically, however, the warriors dispatch the 'stalker quite quickly.
The next day, eleven ghouls spy the party from a distancs and charge along the iron rails. Maedhros dusts the lot with a single turn.
Lowdog has a dream that second night from Calvados about the most powerful creature in Nashborough--a guardian djinni. The same night, 'Beaver gets another message from Turquoise Rain, again begging for help.
Two more days pass without incident and the heroes arrive at Nashborough.
Yavin gets visions of the djinni, who has many arms. He leads an army of elementals, angels of death, and another djinni. Maedhros casts idea, and receives the insight that it would be difficult for anyone to bind-into-service that many elementals for a long period of time. 'Beaver speaks with spirits and is informed that the elementals have recently arrived in the city, over the past few days. They are patrolling the outskirts of the city.
Maedhros and Beaver cast detect invisibility to keep watch for any stalkers that may be coming. The group then proceeds to go on a djinni hunt. Instead, they find six ghouls, who jump the party. Maedhros turns them after Lowdog kills one, much to Torr's chagrin ("We should destroy them!").
Beaver sees, flying over the city, a four-armed, red winged demon with eight invisible stalkers. Torr calls out a challenge, but it flies on. Ten minutes later, the four-armed being returns with eight invisible stalkers while nine ghouls charge the party from behind.
Idky casts protection from evil 10' radius. Torr and Lowdog rush the ghouls, as Maedhros fails to turn them. Lowdog notices that three of the ghouls are slower than the rest. Those three ghouls turn into gallu demons and attack Lowdog, he only one of the hereos who is not under a protection from evil aura.
Aine faerie fires the four invisible stalkers on Lowdog.
