Actually, there was sacking involved. The ancient city of Jewel lay quite quietly in the upper reaches of the Underdark, beneath countless tons of earth and stone, where it was swallowed more than 10,000 year before...
Dion, Sky, Pepper, Mikhail, Jasmine, Corvin, and Cliffy went to investigate the remaining treasure. Cliffy deactivated both mechanically trapped chests, finding a ton of shells as well as a number of jewelry items of FANTASTIC wealth, but with also came with a gem-encrusted idol of the kuo-toan goddess bearing a powerful dweomer of conjuration-summoning. The heroes elected not to touch the icon, nor the treasure beneath it. Further, Cliffy found a chest FULL of coins as well as a magical helm, magical gauntlets, and 12 potions of water breathing at the bottom of a well-turned-safe-hole. After quite a bit of work (and a reduce from Daj who was studying in the library) the heroes finally hauled it out. They spent a full day searching the ruins but found only a single, immature subterranean lizard that Marc befriended and sent on its way. Clearly, the ruins of Jewel ARE exposed to the wider, wilder Underdark...
