The heroes (Ichi, Maedhros, Torr, Idky, Squattingbeaver, Lowdog, and Yavin) kept watch with Turquoise Rain and Dani over François, Christien, and Narrissa through the night. Three shadows showed up, the but the heroes made very short work of them. In the morning, the heroes divided the treasure fully, but 'Beaver's comments about the crown of Calvados wound up angering François and Narrissa, alienated Christien, and making Turquoise Rain cry. As a group, the party headed back to the refugee community in the cornfields where they encountered a young university-educated man, Jean-Luc de l'Aube.
Jean-Luc explained that he was a gardener and wished to join the party. 'Beaver pressed the man in broken Ninevan about what he could do and Jean-Luc answered that he is a necromancer. Torr checked the young man for evil, but saw none, leading the party to a long discussion. Yavin settled the matter with a know alignment revealing that Jean-Luc is lawful neutral with good tendancies...!
Later in the morning, the heroes head back to attack the skyship. Christien pointed out that the darkness seemed to have been slowly descending and the party quickly discovered that the skyship was clearly losing altitude slowly and dragging down all the other balloons with it! Using Yavin as a guide and 'Beaver as an anchor for the spirits, the party flew up to the skyship without disrupting the darkness. Only 100' below the ship, the party pulled out their light items, revealing more than a dozen shadows amid the rigging. Maedhros and Torr set about turning the undead, taking several moments to send away the lot...
And during this time, four demons lept over the edge of the skyship and attacked! Two vrock, a hezrou, and a glabrezu charged into the party. Lowdog, Ichi, and Torr took the four fiends while Maedhros flew up to lightning bolt the ship's deck, 'Beaver providing some cover as the shaman held those gnolls peering over the edge. As the half-elf cleared the cover of the ship, however, a number of additional gnolls opened fire with their "guns" and it was only with amazing luck that Maedhros was shot out of the sky. The deck was full of ghouls and gnolls, all eager to get their chance at the hapless half-elf!
Meanwhile, as the heroes were finishing off the demons, now nine, then ten, then eleven alu-demon swooped down to aid their true demon brethren. The part-succubi swung with their swords and proved fairly ineffective. Similarly, they used a number of magic powers of the party, but the multiple protection from evil 10'r kept them at bay physically and blunted their spells. The prayer Idky calls up helps as well. Maedhros then lines up seven of the alu-demons in a lightning bolt but their inherent magic resistance saves all but one. That one, however, succubs and spins out of control to crash to the ground 4000' below, leading David is say..."they're pretty pussies."
The party has now cleared themselves of the original demons, either stunning them so their fall to their deaths or killing them outright. Another hold person from 'Beaver has similarly taken out more gnolls above and the ghouls merely slaver at the heroes. Then an alu-demon suggests Maedhros fly back onto the deck of the ship, thereby exposing him to another round of withering gunfire. The cleric/mage is overcome by the bullets and crashes to the skyship's deck where ghouls and gnolls charge to rip him apart!
Lowdog, 'Beaver, Idky, and Jean-Luc fly to Maedhros' rescue while Yavin distracts three of the alu-demons. Jean-Luc manages to cast command undead and pits some of the zombies against some of the ghouls. Lowdog, meanwhile, lands over the half-elf's body and battles a half-dozen ghouls. Idky too is swarmed, yet somehow in the confusion, 'Beaver manages to reach Maedhros and death's door him. That's when one of the unengaged alu-demon's charms Jean-Luc and tells him to beat Idky to death! A second alu-demon suggests 'Beaver to throw Maedhros overboard, where his friends can catch (and heal) him -- although luckily the shaman is attacked by a ghoul and zombie, stopping him cold.
Yavin zooms up and grabs Torr, tossing him on the deck of the skyship but also coming under fire from the remaining gnollish gunmen in the crow's nest. The cleric of Celestian is knocked off the broom of flying to the deck 30' below while the magical conveyance zooms off into the sky... Torr lands over Yavin to defend him and soon finds himself also mobbed with ghouls. Meanwhile, one alu-demon gets ahold of Maedhros and starts to carry him off...

Five alu-demons left with two having teleported away (the rest seemed unable to for some reason and fell to their deaths) -- one has Maedhros and the other four are flapping off the side of the ship, out of combat.
