The Red Witch (Kephalonia) and the White Witch (Jasmine) of Klarr and now accepting applications for other witches to fill out the color wheel. Rumor and folklore has it that these two are merely the most powerful members of a much large coven of powerful witches.
The exploits of the Red Witch are fairly well-known since she became the Duchess di Shane of Greyhawk. A number of spell-casters have investigated Kephalonia's sudden involvement with the Duke and searched for a magical cause, but none is evident, despite the vast resources available to the family. Since becoming the Duchess, the Red Witch has given birth to a son, albeit one she has kept from the prying eyes of non-family members. Some believe that the House Di Shane actually now has two or even three heirs, all born to the same witch at the same time. Further rumors abound that, just prior to her marriage, the Red Witch was involved in destroying the Slave Lord ring of the Pomarj as well as aiding a group of Medegian heroes to save Oerth AND win one round of the Panthiad. Today, Kephalonia maintains her new familial estates in Greyhawk as well as an orphanage on the outskirts of Klarr.
The White Witch has been a figure of growing important and rumor for nearly two decades. Unlike the Red Witch's meteoric rise to infamy, Jasmine has associated with a number of powerful heroes and adventuring parties (such as the Fabulous Five and Sailor Scouts) for longer than most bards can recall. Not only was the White Witch formerly coupled with Sir Grimrod, Lord of Castle Yoril, but she has also been paired with Reiszor Chamois (paladin of Athena), Treblo SkyMage of Greyhawk's guild (which she was also, briefly, a member), Borlon, Herald of Ra on Oerth, Zarabell Finelock of Hanali Celanil, and (recently) Stephanos Anastassiadis, a high priest of Apollo now building a temple in Klarr. Tales of her sexual exploits abound and she is believed to have at least three children, each by different fathers: Adama (a cocky fighter), Mikhail (a druid), and Kaitlyn. Jasmine has a history of flouting the authorities, including Klarr's sherrif and deputy. Owner of Klarr's only inn, the Displacer, Jasmine lives in the heart of town.
While these were thought to be the only witches of note in Klarr, a number of stories recently circulating remind common folk of the other witches of Klarr!
Since the founding of the modern village, the Brown Witch, has lived in a tower on the StrongArm estate, near the center of town. Rhanée is Rhom's younger sister and closely associated with the Fabulous Five, Knights of the Wild March, Knights of the Hart, Arch-Duchess Damelia St Karlon, as well as Baron Moorak Drake and his fief of Amberwood. In recent years, Rhanée appeared to leave Klarr to become the high priestess of Amberwood's capitol, Dragondale, but this may all be a clever ruse to lead witch-hunters into a false sense of security. This overly-lawful witch has a long history of using her dragon-born magics to transmute innocent-albeit-mischievious creatures into various unnatural forms as well as magically travel vast distances. Some say she is actually a master illusionist with a collection of enchanted mirrors, although this may be only speculation or jealous gossip on the part of the other witches.
Finally, evidence has come to light that there is a fourth witch in Klarr, the Green Witch. This old Rhennee woman tells fortunes in the White Witch's establishment but is far more than a simple gypsy! Esmerelda (a reference to her witch-color) sports one brown eye and one green one as well as a large tatto of a green tigress on her forearm worthy of a sailor (thereby refuting any of her protestations that she is not associated with these other three). She is the mother of Rhanée and in service to the Norsk Norns. It was she, no doubt, who convinced her son, Rhom, to pave the entry roads into Klarr with ogre skulls on carved spears. Since this old woman has come to Klarr, she has had most of the StrongArm estate renovated with strange carved woodwork and external paintings. It is believed that she has a long association with Corvin Oakmead, dwarven protector of GnomeHome and has journeyed to numerous undersea kingdoms. While there, it is said that the Green Witch bested a sumotori and bound him into service.
It is now rumored that this powerful coven of witches seeks further members in accordance with their magical color scheme! Positions available include the [glow=teal,8,1200]Blue, Purple, Black, Gray, Orange, and Yellow [/glow]Witches of Klarr...! And it is said that even non-pagans can apply...! What mischief do these women have afoot?
