Most of the witch's typical arts and crafts (talismans, candles, philters of love, control dolls, etc) don't list a particular cost - are those just gimmies if the witch has reasonable access to household items (eye of newt, badger teeth, hand of glory, etc) or is there a particular gold piece value associated with them?
Does it seriously take a month of uninterrupted activity (no spellcasting whatsoever) to make a silly candle?

If no cost is listed, then household goods are fine (remember, witches come from a cash-poor, education-light tradition). That said, a hand of glory (the enchanted kind) is a magical item in its own right and not easily made (it's TOUGH!).
Candle making does take loads of time, but casting spells AT HOME should be fine. Heck, you can even take off for up to an hour or so before the candle-work is ruined...
