The date: 617/11/24
The heroes:
Kephalonia (the Red Witch) -- 10th lvl witch of Hecate
Jasmine (the White Witch) -- 8th lvl houri
Corvin Oakmead -- dwarven fighter/cleric
Mang -- newly-restored dwarven fighter
Saanau -- elven mage
Dobby (the Eldest New Hero) -- elven archer
Zevi -- elven fighter/thief
Treblo SkyMage -- wizard
Bush -- *charmed* orc with FANTASTIC strength
After having slain Mordrammo, the "witches" set about figuring out their next move. Kephalonia's mage retainer returned to Greyhawk and blabbed about the mission to one of the ranking Guild Master, Treblo SkyMage. Treblo, having a long history with Keph and Jas teleported to Klarr to "lend a hand" (as well as be a pest and recover some of his "lost loot").
Ironically, after the last mission, Treblo's former party-member, Saanau, was in desperate need of magical aid as her eyes had been melted out of her head by a glyph. In addition, another former party-member, Mang, was still cursed into the form of a dryad. Treblo removed the dwarf's curse and teleported the elf to a cleric capable of fixing her.
During this time, Kephalonia finished questioning the High Priest of Ghaunadaur and granted his spirit eternal rest. Adama then disassociated the molecules of his body psionically. The heroes learned that the assassin Damask was still on Mikhail's trail, so Adama called in her favor with Treblo in exchange for his aid in dealing with the woman.
By this point all the heroes had returned and Zevi, another of Mordrammo's foes and Kephalonia's party members, joined the group. Together, they all teleported to "Damask's side" only to discover that she was "the nice" half-elven woman who'd been staying at the Displacer (Jasmine's bar!) for the last week. Zevi used his medallion of ESP to discover that the houri/assassin had transfer charmed all the people and animals under Jasmine's control to herself. Not wishing to run afoul of such a powerful group of heroes merely for a dead-end mission, Damask agreed to leave in peace, flying off on her gray pegasus.
Later that same day, Kephalonia also disposed of Omega and Luthor. The former was left stranded on the plane known as "Dinosaur world" with supplies and a hunting knife while Luthor was returned unransomed to the Scarlet Brotherhood with the understanding the neither the Red Witch nor the White Witch nor Klarr nor any of their allies were "legitimate targets" now or in the future. The heroes felt satisfied and Zevi and Kephalonia validated the pact using their talents to read minds.
The next day, ready for action, the heroes followed the instructions Mordrammo's spirit gave them. Treblo teleported without error with half the party and Kephalonia scried the wizard and dimension folded the rest to that location. Now in the same small prayer room with gray rugs on the floor, Zevi tried to find the magical and mechanical traps on the doors and pick the locks. He removed the Western door's traps but couldn't open the lock. Meanwhile, while working on the Eastern door, he set off some sort of chime. The elven thief got the door open just in time for a mage in the next room to slow nearly the entire party!
Only Kephalonia and Jasmine resisted Ajakstu's spell. Next to the once-again-living, mirror imaged mage was the monk slave-master Kephalonia's party had slain as well as Slippery Ketta, the master thief who'd escaped each-and-every tussle unharmed!
Keph used a spark shower on the monk and mage, disrupting his mirror image but causing neither any real damage. The monk of the Scarlet Brotherhood tried to deal with Mang and Kephalonia plus the lion that Jasmine conjured, but only the animal took any damage. Ketta again slipped away.
At this point Treblo blanketed the heroes in a dispel magic which negated the slow on many of them, but also took out their protective spells and light stones as well as the charm on Bush! Luckily, Ajakstu charmed the orcish warrior only to have Jasmine transfer that charm back to herself -- although only after Zevi stepped in to save the houri from the orc's uncharmed rage! Most of the heroes now moving at regular speed (and Ketta's attempt to backstab Mang from invisibility completely failed), the tables turned. The monk dropped the lion, but Treblo lightning bolted the three -- only the crimson-robed martial artist remained on his feet. Grabbing a reeling Ketta, the monk fled leaving Ajakstu's smoldering body on the ground.
Saanau's familiar, the cooshe Celeme, Dobby, and Kephalonia gave chase, catching up as the monk released a horde of ghouls. Kephalonia changed her shape so she wore a matching armband to the ones on the thief and monk's arm. Celeme bolted. Dobby, meanwhile, was savaged by the undead and fled. Mang and Treblo charged after and a series of lighting bolts and chain lightnings cleared the hallway (I do hate gaming on painkillers!).
The party regrouped and was attacked by 15 shadows. The undead swarmed through the ranks, draining much of Mang and Saanau's strength. Kephalonia, meanwhile, found herself facing a potent human warrior armed with a spear as well as a drowic woman who changed her fists into bulging pseudo-pods (a ghaunadan!). Somehow the Red Witch stayed on her feet long enough for the dwarven fighters to hack down most of the shadows and help to arrive. Using her enchanted magical staff Flameheart, Kephalonia burned the ghaunadon to a puddle, but three more priests of the Elder Elemental God arrived...and joined the spear-weilding fighter in being lightining bolted by Treblo. All four turned to ash.
At this point, Kephalonia suggested charming and questioning Ajakstu -- the previous blast hadn't killed the wizard, although he was bleeding to death. Treblo had itemized him for "safe keeping" but now restored him. Jasmine used a kiss of slavery on the dying mage and Keph healed him. Ajakstu revealed the most likely location of Moonlight before Jasmine had him agree to again be itemized. The heroes had charged right past the correct holding cell!
Zevi deal with the traps on the doors while Treblo followed Kephalonia's plan of using a globe of invulnerability to protect the group from any glyphs the thief might miss. In the room beyond were a pair of elementals -- earth and air. Mang and Bush charged! Now free of the slow spell, Mang and Corvin, tore into the elementals with the support of Saanau. Unfortunately, as the dwarves and Bush charged, they ran outside Treblo's spell and triggered two glyphs. Mang resisted being disintegrated but Bush was transmuted into mud! Yet despite this, in 20 seconds, the elementals were destroyed and the way to the sacrifical chamber was clear. Zevi nevertheless insisted on checking for lingering traps and saved the heroes from one cleverly hidden one on the staircase (which would have hit the back of the party after the 'globe had passed!).
At the top of the stairs, the heroes were faced with a choice Ajakstu hadn't mentioned -- an ornate door in front or a smaller, wooden door to the side. They chose the side door and found Moonlight's beaten and raped body. Quickly freeing her, Corvin used a cure serious wounds on the druidess healing her mangled arm, damaged spine, and concussion.
With that the heroes dimension folded back to Klarr with Ajakstu, Bush, and Moonlight.
What *IS* the party's next move? They do have treasure to divide (which the DM will NOT let linger for another 8 months, cuz that's sorta unfair since it can be done online) AND a 10th lvl LE mage to question!
[glow=red,2,300]Treasure[/glow]+3 platemail (was on Bush when he was zapped), +2 ring, ring of spell storing, +2 mace (all from Mordrammo -- I believe all the suits of elven chain were divided and there is still the coinage and non-magical weapons in his trove) PLUS Ajakstu's bracers of AC 7, potion of extra-healing, and scroll of hold portal and suggestion and the +1 spear and +1 platemail from the high-level fighter in the hall (that's all the survived the lightning bolt!).
And then there's Bush (a puddle of mud which needs to be restored before he oozes or dries out too much), Ajakstu (charmed, influenced, and enslaved by Jasmine, but admittedly only for the moment since he's smart and high level), and the raped and tortured Moonlight...
As for Moonlight, in the morning, she seems to be in MUCH better spirits, as if much of her mistreatment didn't happen. Jasmine takes Kephalonia and Saanau aside and mentions that she asked Treblo to fetch "an old ally" who has magically erased portions of the druidess memory of the event. Sooner or later a dispel magic will restore these recollections, so this is ONLY a stop-gap, not a solution!
