Deal Journal,
After I was done jotting down notes we were back on the move, but not before I called on the powers of Osirus to heal Kirby. We decided that we had gone the right direction because everyone knows where there is smoke there is fire, and after fire breathing dogs this must be the right way. We went into a secret door that Kirby knew about, he sure comes in handy. We formed up ranks and headed into the new room. Just as we entered there was a burst of air and all of our torches went out. We could barely see into the room. All of a sudden there were two lizard men attacking us! I was about to shout something meaningful like “Osirus will smite you O’ evil beings!”, but all of a sudden there was a thick spider web around all of us. I was so scared, and of all the people that were free it had to be Baru! I heard a faint muffled voice I believe now that it was the doctor yell “throw a damn torch in there and burn the web”. Baru confused it seems by big words like “throw” waited a full round before he decided to do as the doctor said. I hope this does not become to common, but that’s when the world went black!
I awoke laying astride a big bird! I stumbled to the ground and thanked the doctor for saving me. He said he was welcome but the tiger Gilgamesh started poking me and made it clear that it was he who saved me. What will all the girls back at the temple think of that! Saved by a tiger! Bet I’m the only one there that can say that! Moving on… I asked the doctor if everyone was alright and found that the kitty cat man was very badly hurt and on the brink of death, I quickly cast a cure light wounds with the aid of Osirus and was able to save his life. I regret that Baru did not make it out alive.
We stayed in the city for a extended period of time. While there Conner, Olaf, and myself lent Kirby some money to buy new chain mail armor since his was damaged in the battle, he promised he would pay me back. One day while I was explaining to a innkeeper that Gilgamesh is not just a tiger but a great adventurer who had destroyed evil in its home and save countless people from the perils of the world, a man asked if he could join the party. He is a priest of <gag> Haiti’s <gag> after he instantly started charging the party for heals I nicely explained that he’s a shitty priest to a shitty god and should not charge for spells. The group said he could come along with us, but if it was my choice he could just die a lonely lonely death and go wade in his gods river to live with her forever!
After 3 days in town we headed back out to the cave again. New armor, new member, and new passion to smite all that is there for the memory of Baru. We went in the cave again but took a different route when we got in. Kirby and Olaf said they saw a skeleton in a hallway and like knights in the great stories CHARGE’d after it! To bad they are not up to date on the more resent books about adventure, in those there are good and BAD times. This was a bad time, Kirby and Olaf fell head first into a pit filled with spikes. Olaf was careful to avoid most of the spikes but Kirby faired lesser in the spike dodging skills. When he came up from the pit I gave him a heal and we kept moving. The skeleton must have gotten away.
We came to a room and opened the door, Ghouls! I called upon the mighty Osirus and turned them to cower in the corner of the room. The new priest started talking all this stuff about controlling them, but we quickly explained he’s crazy and would probably make them rape him just for the fun of it. Haiti’s is vile. We quickly dispatched the ghouls and with some quick sword work and the power of Osirus put an end to them.
We wandered around a bit going to a place Kirby had been before. Passed another pit trap and came to a curtain. Kirby said when the curtains lift there is a blinding flash of light, so thinking logically what would the hero’s do? I recommended we all turn away from the curtain like so… Kirby ripped it down! The light was very bright but lucky me I was not looking at it because I was still showing the others what they should do. Everyone got blinded but Kirby, Djann, Conrad, and myself. In the room were ghouls galore! There was also a lizard man with robes on. I stepped into the room behind Kirby charge and called on Osirus to turn the ghouls, It worked all of them turned from me. The lizard man started Trying to cast spells but Kirby was on him. All of a sudden a whole bunch of skeletons came in the room, So again I turned them. This time about half still got to attack us. Kirby finished slaying the priest then helped me with the skeletons. Conrad came charging into the room saying Djann was watching the blinded people. We took some hits but were able to stay alive. Everyone got there sight back and we dispatched the ghouls in short order. THIS IS HOW ADVENTURING IS SUPPOST TO BE! I sat down to jot this down but I must get up now and help the group clear the rest of this evil place.
