The heroes (Dion, Mikhail with Samhain, Sky, Cliffy, Daj, Pepper, Semi, Ingemar, and Helga) are sleeping when two women appeared in their midst, stepping out of a rift in the air very similar to what Mordrammo had been doing. The first woman is dressed in the latest fashions of Greyhawk, with wavy blonde hair (and dark roots), as well as red hands. The second woman is wearing colorful "hippie" clothes, with platinum blonde hair and blue-green eyes. It's Kephalonia, the Red Witch of Klarr, and Jasmine, the White Witch of Klarr! In tow are Marc with two dire wolves (King and now Queen) as well as his wolverine, Bronson, and another man, Alec, a cleric of Prometheus. The witches greet the party and explain that Mordrammo is now dead, but that he may have one or two minions still looking to go after the group. The two women each heal Helga and offer to take care of Kirby and Thera's lycanthropic infection. Jasmine kisses her son goodbye and the witches are gone!
The heroes set out back to the Temple of Elemental Evil. En route they're ambushed by seven bugbear and seven goblins, but make short work of them. On the bodies, the party find a scroll which Ingemar reads...
Suddenly, Ingemar is just a two year old infant. Not wanting to risk her life, Mikhail offers to teleport with the baby to Griffon Mountain. The heroes will need to meet him just outside the Temple in three hours. The group agrees and enters the Temple complex.
Cliffy climbs through the hole in the stained-glass window. Following him is Semi with Alec just reaching the window when the elf spies a beholder-like creature rushing at him! Cliffy tosses a fireball which hurts the monster, but only slightly. It is like a beholder, but its body is covered with eyes and yet there are no eye stalks! Suddenly, nine of the eyes fire rays of light, seriously wounding both Cliffy and Semi, while the main eye focuses on Alec and sends him crashing to the ground. Semi charges while Cliffy turns invisible and Daj casts magic missile from the window. The creature drops Semi and telekinetically pulls the half-dryad out of the window. Just then Cliffy stabs the central eye and destroys it. As Sky finally reaches the room, Cliffy and Daj finish the monster off. The group tends their wounds and Marc and Daj spend 20 minutes skinning the gazer.
Helga casts find traps and takes point, quickly locating a glyph on the stairs down. Dion dispels it and the heroes continue on to find a strange, locked door. Cliffy can't manage to pick the two locks so Semi starts hammering at it. The noise brings gnolls who sound the alarm!
The heroes face multiple waves of monsters. Marc's animals are cut off and hacked down. Ghouls come from one side while gnolls attack from the other side. Luckily, the undead, though they come in many waves, are no match for Dion. The cleric of Apollo destroys three batches of ghouls and then turns to groups of ghasts. Marc isn't faring as well and nearly dies as more gnolls, a pair of hobgoblins, and two ogres join the fight! The heroes survive, barely, and tend to their wounded. Deciding they lack the power to continue, the group heads back out of the dungeons to wait for Mikhail.
Not ten minutes later the heroes are ambushed by a group of nine bandits. The party defeats them quickly enough and Dion charms a survivor while Marc ruthlessly slays the others! Dion questions the man and finds he works with Belak in Nulb. Deciding to send Belak a message, Dion gives the man a continual light arrow and sends him back to Nulb. The rest of the party, however, dislikes this course of action...!
The heroes get undercover in the brush and continue waiting for Mikhail. Two hours later, a pair of werewolves pounce on the party! The lycanthropes last only for a few moments against the combined power of the party, but Marc and Cliffy are both wounded, the elf somewhat mauled! Within a few minutes, Mikhail arrives and uses belladonna to treat Cliffy, storing the elf in his bag of holding. The group then decides to put some distance between themselves and the Temple, marching nearly until sunset.
Helga creates a campsite and the party settles in to rest. Mikhail psionically tends the wounded and checks on Cliffy. Just before midnight, the watch spies a large mob approaching, no doubt tracking the party. The heroes have PLENTY of time to get themselves together to face the SIX DOZEN townsfolk who've come...!
Thinking quickly, Pepper casts improved phantasmal force of an impenetrable thicket. Stymied, the band tries to light the illusionary thorns, but they merely "smolder". Then the heroes charge out of an opening Pepper makes and within two minutes have slain almost everyone arrayed before them -- five men disappeared into the woods while 72 lie dead at their feet, including the man Dion had charmed and the pirate-mate Marc had tangled with in Nulb!
Tending to their wounds again, the heroes settle in for some much-needed rest. In the morning, Dion casts a detect magic and finds several treasures among the mob. The heroes' current status in the morning is:
Daj: full (37)
Pepper: full (22)
Alec: full (8)
Dion: full (44), but cast detect magic (and NEVER touched the WHOLE day before!)
Sky: full (61)
Cliffy: 13 of 35, still itchy from the gazer's bite and benefiting from Helga's accelerate healing
