The heroes wake up the next morning to the feeling of being watched. Clanndennagh puts up a mind blank while Mikhail time shifts. Then Marc steps out of empty air, followed by the witch, Rhanée. No longer a mouse, the beastmaster is ready to rejoin the heroes, although there's no one in Amberwood able to mend poor Cliffy's arm. Pepper asks if Rhanée knows a place to buy mithril pieces for her phantom armor spell. She does and both the gnome and half-dryad leave with her. Meanwhile, Jellie and her friend, Dobbie the archer, show up to join the heroes.
The group breaks camp and hikes two hours back to the farm house where they attack. The party (Marc with King and Bronson, Dion, Clanndennagh, Mikhail with Samhain, Sky, Moonlight with Quicksilver, Helga, Semi, Jellie, Dobbie) come upon two hill giants guarding the clearing. As they join battle, an ettin also arrives. Marc leads the charge, but is nearly killed outright and is forced to let King and Bronson fight for him. Jellie tries to take out one hill giant with an illusionary hydra, but the monster is hit so hard it flips on its side and gets some heads stuck under its body! Helga tries to trade blows with another giant but loses badly in the exchange. Then the ettin arrives! Dobbie straffs the jotuns with arrows, but when one tosses a boulder at him, he's nearly squashed! Clanndennagh tries to psi blast the two-headed brute, but fails to hit either head twice. The ettin is far more skilled and mashes the psychic warrior, first once with a glancing blow, but then twice more, leaving him dead.
About this time, a web cuts off the back ranks of the party as the killer, Bleyshek, joins on the giants' side. On cue, the animals, including Samhain, turn on the heroes. Semi, however, has taken the time to advance on the black-cloaked figure and he and Marc attack. Moonlight uses her ring to hold King and Bronson at bay, but Sammy drops her and then Marc, before Bleyshek is finally hacked down.
The heroes are in bad shape and Clanndennagh is dead. Mikhail sobs for quite some time, ignoring the rest of the group. Finally, after Dion and Helga tend to the wounded, Marc and Semi fashion a litter to transport the large man's corpse. The heroes head toward Hommlet with heavy hearts. After the second watch, Mikhail disappears. In the morning, he returns on the back of a griffon with a powerfully-built mage, Brand. The gruff wizard offers to get Clanndennagh fixed and turns his body into a small doll. Brand agrees to rendez-vous with the heroes in Hommlet in a few days and with that takes back off into the sky.
The heroes keep walking without incident, arriving in Hommlet on the 7th. They spend two days in town, resting up and healing their wounds since they no longer have a psi to mend them. The group also divides up much of the treasure they found. Semi picks up the white-enameled broad sword and discovers he's somehow addicted to the non-magical weapon. Helga draws the iron-blackened blade and loses almost all of her strength, stamina, and speed. That same day Adama, Mikhail's older sister arrives in town. Her goal is the "whip the party into shape" and take out Omega "once and for all".
Late on the 9th, Brand returns with Mikhail and a Flan priest named Black Robe. The shaman agrees to raise Clanndennagh in exchange for a quest to complete the destruction of the Temple of Elemental Evil. Clanndennagh, Mikhail, Sky, Semi, Helga, and Marc agree to the terms. Black Robe will raise Clanndennagh the following morning, but the heroes will need to remain in Hommlet for five days in order for the psi to recover. Brand takes Mikhail with him "for sake keeping". Adama hangs out with the party, training with them, especially Helga and Semi. Sky goes to the forge and works alongside the gnomish smith to make herself a chainmail bikini. Marc leaves with Jasmine, in pursuit of more animals to join his pack. On the 10th, Clanndennagh returns to life.
Two days later, the scrying returns. Clanndennagh is lying in bed when seven skeletons rush into the room (and ariel servant tried, but Semi's paladin aura hedged it out!). They nearly killed the weakened psychic warrior, but he managed to see Mordrammo on the other side of the dimensional fold and successfully ego whip him! Helga, Semi, and Adama, then cleared the undead.
The next day, the party changed rooms. Some thugs came to the door saying they were from the Temple and wanted to give up. It was all a rouse, a distraction. While the thugs fought Dion and (later) Moonlight, Omega slipped into Clanndennagh's room and knocked him out. He was about to leave with him, when Sky saw the half-orc and attacked. She was nearly killed for her troubles. Semi charged, and he too was hacked down. At that moment, Moonlight unleashed her Staff of Avanrakash and an adult, female salamander lept out of the fire and attacked Omega.
The illusion lasted a single round, but bought Sky time to retreat. A fear spell then caught the bounty hunter and he coward in the privy. Helga and Adama charged into the scene, after having hacked their way through nearly a dozen thugs in the foyer of the bar (which Adama sorta blew up with a detonate....). Moonlight attacked Omega while Adama tried to vaporize him. When that failed, she used her telekinesis to take off the man's two rings... Helga finished off the last of the thugs and moved to help Adama when Lassivar appeared and nearly gutted Dion.
Things looked bleak...
And then Lassivar fumbled, slipping on all the blood in the hall and stunning himself when he tried to finish Dion and Sky with thrown daggers. Although VERY BADLY wounded, Sky bravely coiled around the assassin and started to squeeze...with his hands pinned, Lassivar was doomed...
Which is when Omega stood up. One hit dropped Moonlight and Adama jumped into physical combat, only to be nearly hacked down herself. Helga came to the psi's rescue and Adama ego whiped Omega into a panic. Lassivar disappeared in a swirl of rainbow colors. Omega also recovered and hacked down Helga before diving head-first through the open window and out into the street.
The heroes regrouped. Adama hopped onto the back of her young griffon, Uhura, and flew off. Three hours later, Allyrion arrived and with some spells, transported the whole party to Tanorim where the heroes rested for the next two days. With them were the griffons Yambre, Warango, Venus, and Uhura, as well as the hunting dog, Lucky, and wild cat, Pussy, and Brand and Allyrion's two sons, Dante and Gabriel.
Next game will begin on the morning of the 617/11/16 on the eastern slopes of Griffon Mountain with most of the party reunited (Marc doesn't know where everyone is but Rhanée returns Cliffy after he ponys up 1000gp for his cure. Helga and Moonlight have school -er- other adventuring to do and Jellie and Dobbie are probably likewise busy).
