Question for the party:
Why are the Mind Flayers on Oerth?
They are hyper-intelligent cowards - their magic should be affected by "end of the world" , their psionics should be affected by the "end of the world", their escape routes should be difficult or cut.
Are they up to something (again?) or are they trapped in the desert wasteland?
Unfortunately, trying to capture one for questioning is difficult - we will probably have to kill them. I hope their are other things to question in their lair (servants? Food? But those will probably be dominated. Maybe we can question them when they are dead.)

Harbinder says, "the illithid do not use magic. It's quite possible that these were unable to dimensionally shift off of Oerth using their psionic powers, much as I can no longer establish wormholes. Their arrogance must have been their undoing...
"These creatures hate bright light and dry conditions. I find it surprising to find any in the wastelands of Zakhara. That said, they are a mortal threat to anyone living nearby -- mind flayers eat human brains to survive.
"I doubt you'll be able to question one. Magic won't work and if it's conscious, it's more like to control your mind and make you release it. I've only heard of one man ever successfully intergating an illithid and he's one of the most powerful telepaths on Oerth as well as a thouroughly vile and evil man himself."

We need to plan and plot their demise - a full frontal assault? Or stealth and cunning? I am of two minds... Can we infiltrate their lair using psionics to mask our presence and magic to hide ourselves? Flint

"It would take a very skilled psionic to enter an illithid lair undetected. And it would drain a fair amount of mental strength in the process. I do not know of any spells which would allow for this, except one cast only by the highest calibre of wizard."

Or maybe there are some psionics in the area we are unaware of? (on secret missions perhaps) and we could utilize their skills. Flint

"That is a thought, Flint." Harbinder smiles sweetly, "I have been in contact with my teacher in Ahlissa throughout our adventures. There are no psis he is aware of dwelling in this region. And, unfortunately, my skills do not lend themselves well to telepathic scans."
