Su, Jamal, Asha, Py!ota, William, and Jack questioned Grastic Hammerclay, the troll-gnome further about the lizardmen and other creatures in the ruins. The group decided to seek out the lizardmen and destroy them. En route, the party found some temple ruins oddly placed as well as the bodies of two lizard men with large holes in them. Very soon the group encountered the cause: piercers. Making short work of the silicon-monsters, the group prepared to continue, although Jack took a moment to torture one of the piercers.
The group explored much further into the cavern complex, avoiding more piercers, but found they needed to cross the midgit-troll's bridge. They constructed a careful guide-rope and found Grastic's old home, complete with the body of his love. Farther on, the group found the lizard man village. Someone took a shot at the village with a missile weapon, only to realize that the lizardmen were now pouring forth en mass to counter attack!
Needless to say, the party RAN!
Just as they approached the slippery section with the guide-line, two things happened. First, a piercer fell into Py!ota and second Asha spied two groups of the reptiles, one ahead and one behind, about the catch the heroes in a pincer move and cut them off. Asha hopped off Jamal's shoulder, charged and used a lightning bolt to fry most of the "rear" group. About that time, however, the forward group cut off the party's escape. The lizardman shaman produced flame and an oily substance, driving off Grastic. Meanwhile, the party was suddenly sore-put to survive!
The battle was fierce; it would seem that the shaman knew a trick which insighted his fellows into a berserk rage... Were it not for the lightning bolt the heroes would surely have been overwhelmed. Su managed to add some confusion by shifting forms repeatedly, but the lizardmen finally took him and all the other heroes down, until only Asha and Grastic remained. But that time was enough for the flames to go out and the troll to return to battle.
In the end, the troll was shreaded badly and all of the heroes downed. Asha used her own ability to cure light wounds and Su's potions to stabilize everyone except Jack, who bled out quickly. Beaten and broken, the heroes carried the fallen out of the dungeon and back to the Destiny where they would need several days rest.
