Briefly, on the 9th, Cloe scouted the island for a place to find berries for Shazir's goodberry spell. She found several spots as well as watched a group of humans signal to something far off the coast using mirrors.
On the 10th, a small group of Su, Arthur, Jamal, Asha, Py!ota, William, Omar, and Shazir went back to the ruins. They encountered no resistance and went down to the rope bridge. There they saw a group of lizard men feasting on human corpses down one passage, but didn't investigate. Su became a lizard man himself, but wound up scaring the creatures off.
The heroes continued exploring to the east and found another cavern with rope bridges. Beyond this they met four more warriors in ancient, pseudo-Grecian platemail as well as another cleric of Thanatos. After defeating the lot (although the hold person spells were a problem), Py!ota found a sacred wooden idol of sorts, then triggered a spear trap, was impaled, fell down a flight of stairs over 45' long, and saw and was almost eaten by a dwarf-troll. Asha came to the pygmy's rescue, blasting the troll-dwarf with a lightning bolt so the pair could escape.
Meanwhile, above, the heroes tried to question one of the warriors. Su managed to discover quite a bit of information via his mind reading. The party then gave the man a sword and trapped him on the troll-side of the portcullis...
Later, the group came back to the sight of the tougher party's previous battle as well as where the lizardmen had been eating. They turned right this time and Py!ota opened a door to a cavern full of bones. He wisely checked his magical rose, which had turned black... Su, meanwhile, sensed an ambush.
From one end, Py!ota was fighting some shadow-skeleton wolverine while the group was attacked by more warriors as well as another hold person. After a very fierce and close battle, where Arthur drained most of his strength and nearly all the fighters were held, the heroes drove off the wolverine creature, killed two fighters, and fled (they couldn't kill the others in the web and stinking cloud for fear of freeing and being forced to deal with the freshly-animated skeletons).
Unfortunately, in tbe battle with the wolverine-thing, Jamal had leapt forward to save the then-held Py!ota. In the process the creature totally shreaded the ranger's leg, crippling him for life. Meanwhile, although Arthur avoided combat, his strength-draining exploits left his damaged ribs quite sore...
