The heroes continued dealing with the dark figures.
Orn psionically dimension doored himself and Cloe to rescue the woman on the altar. Meanwhile, Jamal hacked down one other cult member. Sabuto began to get to his feet while Su was still held. Flint magic missiled the last non-fleeing priest into paste.
But the enemies that had fled had not given up. A hold person nearly took out Cloe, although together she, Orn, and Jamal killed the last remaining bronze-platemail clad warrior.
Meanwhile, Flint began to explore, discovering an idol to a strange, dark robed god. As he revealed it, his fear of death held him rigid and a ghost-like figure came out of the idol to claim him. Sabuto moved to the rescue, attacking the ghostly figure -- only one initially who could see it. The dark robes fell away revealing a minor incarnation of DEATH!
Jamal moved to aid Sabuto, but the Death struck the ranger instead. Not only did it terribly wound Jamal, it stole part of his life energy! Sabuto, however, used a kiaied eagle's claw to finish the monster.
Battered, the heroes returned to the ship...
