Introduction and Insertion
On the 7th of June, a large party of elves and their allies arrived in Chendl. Led by Aeleron Graycloak, this group planned to travel to the heart of the Vesve Forest and make contact with Hannok, the oldest living elf on Oerth. The party consisted of:
Ael'Mara Saes -- wood elven ranger / cleric of Corellon
Darya Swiftfoot -- wood elven mage / thief
Cliffy Swiftfoot -- wood elven mage / thief
Zevi -- high elven fighter / thief
Kennibrae Zajalyra -- drow ranger / cleric of Eilistraee
Shannar -- drow fighter
Ethan Ravensbury III -- beastman fighter
Gamoth of Ki -- human druid
with Ashtabular (tigress), Ramu (grizzly bear), and Nikaris (black jaguar)
and joined in Chendl by
Andorallan -- human fighter
The heroes arrived a few miles west of Hannok's home, deep in the forest, a few hours before dawn. Hannok had already cast a number of stone skins on the group, and then added strength for several of the fighters and infravision for the humans.
The group hiked for nearly an hour before encountering any resistance -- in the form of four bar-llgura! The heroes killed two and drove the other two off, only for them to return with three babau and two dretch. The party slaughtered the lot, save for one babau. Without much of a pause, however, the heroes soon found themselves under attack from hill giants and ogres. Ultimately victorious, the heroes were drained of much of their magical healing.
A short while later, Ael'Mara brought the group to the outskirts of the druidic community. There, the group found a ruined watch-tree. Within were a nest of wyverns, which attacked. Meanwhile a horde of orogs and orcs swarmed the heroes. Again, the heroes worked quite well together and slaughtered their foes. Binding their wounds and already somewhat weary, the heroes are within a few more minutes walk of the heart of Fangoria...
