For my part, these are the two heroes I'm planning on send to Fangoria:
Gamoth of Ki
Human, male, 12th lvl druid of Ki, neutral
Gamoth appears to be a man in his mid-thirties, standing about 6' and weighing 170lbs. His physique is muscular but lithe, like that of a decathlete or wrestler. A veritable mane of long, wild, reddish-brown hair frames his face and spills down to his shoulders. His handsome face is partial masked by a full beard of the same shade and in a similarly wild and bushy state. Beneath his fuzzy eyebrows are a pair of warm, alert, hazel-green eyes. Despite a relaxed attitude, Gamoth radiates a definite presence.
His stance is that of a fighter, walking on the balls of his feet with a careful, quiet and graceful step. His body language is relaxed and casual, his movements are fluid and cat-like, yet deceptively swift -- his leaps and sprints being beyond those of most men.
Gamoth usually is clad in a dun colored tunic, with a worn leather belt and boots. Instead of trousers, he wears a diagonally woven kilt of earthtones. On his back is a gray-green cloak and around his neck is a string of bones and beads, with a dragon's tooth in the center. A scimitar at his side and throwing daggers in both boots and on his belt, Gamoth travels rather lightly. In his hand, hair, or pouch he carries a colorful iris, the symbol of his goddess, Ki.
His skin is tanned with a slightly ruddy hue and lightly covered with reddish-brown body hair. His appearance is somewhat feral, although certainly neither beast-like nor barbaric. Gamoth is at ease in most any situation. His mood is casual, although both his curiosity and passion are easily aroused. His friendly demeanor and relaxed attitude give him a very approachable and charismatic aura. To women, he seems to have a definite and distinct sexual appeal and animal magnetism while men find him to be an ease-going "one of the guys."
Gamoth's constant companion is an eight foot long, 360 pound tigress with rich orange fur -- Ashtabular. Although a wild animal, when interacting with Gamoth, Ash seems tame, as well as extremely intelligent.
Gamoth also is accompanied by a large, nearly ten foot tall, medium-brown, male grizzly bear -- Ramu. Like the tigress, Ramu is beginning to show his age, being well beyond his prime. Also a wild animal, Ramu seems more comfortable interacting with humans.
Finally, also with Gamoth is a medium-sized, six foot long, nearly-black jaguar with very faint rosette markings -- Nikaris. What marks Nik so distinctly from Ash and Ramu is that not only does he NOT seem wild, but he speaks crisp, clear Common with a slight Aerdi accent (think Bagheera from Jungle Book)!
also going is...
Kennibrae Zajalyra
Drow, female, 4th lvl ranger / 5th lvl cleric of Eilistraee, chaotic good
Kennibrae appears to be teenage dark elf, standing 4'9" and weighing maybe 80lbs. She appears slightly athletic and in good shape, but certainly not a mighty warrior nor a lightning-fast assassin. Long, straight, snow-white, shoulder-length hair frames her youthful jet-black face. She usually wears her hair so her dark, sharp, pointy ears stand out in this mass of white, much as her dusky-rose colored eyes give contrast to her ebony face. Graceful and pretty, Kennibrae seems to be above average, but hardly exceptional.
What is unusual about Kennibrae is her demeanor; especially for a drow, she is joyful, bright, friendly, inquisitive, and happy. Although she grew up as a minor princess in House Kilsek of Erelhui-Cinlu, Kennibrae somehow maintained a sense of optimism and wonder about the world. She has spent nearly a decade on the surface, finding great harmony in the woodlands and forests, as well as the stars of the night sky. Kennibrae enjoys music and dance, sings quite well, and is an accomplished cook. Perky-to-a-fault, this drow priestess is nothing like her brethren.
Kennibrae usually dresses in badly scorched elven chainmail and a gray-green elven cloak. She is armed with two short swords as well as a silver longsword. In addition to her bedroll and camping equipment, the young princess-in-exile usually caries food and drink to give hungry travelers, herbs and spices for cooking, and rose-scented perfume ("cuz dungeons can get musty sometimes!")
Kennibrae's (non-humanoid) companion is a large, male lion -- Aslan. Kennibrae has worked hard to train Aslan to be something of an oversized house-cat, although clearly she still has more work to do (he likes eating dogs). The most striking element of her lion, however, is that Kennibrae has had him color cantriped to coordinate with her -- his mane is white, his eyes dusky-rose, while his body is jet-black.
