With the advent of the Apocalypse, all of Oerth has been shaking to its foundations. Plagues, famines, and natural disasters are just the starters. Whole nations have begun to crumble...
And then there is the North Province, also known as the Highlands...
Already ravaged by a decade-long war, the Highlands had only just begun to recover when the crisis began. Worse, as the Apocalypse began, frost giant raiders had begun marauding along the coast, preying upon any and all human settlements in their path like their Viking neighbors but 100 times more deadly.
Then, suddenly, as the slaadi began menacing the North Province, the thurse invaders stopped their incursions. Finally, something was going humanity's way. That's when the rumors began...
The great nation of the wolf-men in the Bone March, to the North of the North Province and acting as a buffer between the Nordic lands and the kingdoms humanity. For more than a decade, the strange, powerful beastmen had slowly built up their numbers, claiming the broken kingdom and preying up all within its borders. There had been rumors of the wolf-men attacking settlements to the South, but, according to Thane Navroc MacCorval of Irongate, the creatures had been "distracted and sufficiently discouraged" to avoid the domains of men.
But now, it appears as that has all changed. Scouts have reported valleys bereft of life; every living thing slaughtered by a powerful pack of animals. And the tracks seem much like those of a werewolf, but clearly some other threat menaces the Highlands...indeed, it is all but certain that the wolfoids of the North are hunting men!
