Can we get an update on the state of Furyondi at this time?
I think I have both Kee'O and Solinane in the area (Chendl?) but I the player am not aware of what progress the forces of good have made against the invaders in the past months.
Why don't we just get together a relatively powerful yet mobile group and start sacking their supply lines and way-stations, so they stop attacking?

A VERY good question ANDY!
Furyondy's ground-war has ground to a halt. Iuz has retreated from most of Northern Furyondy, but still retains sections of the country above Crockport as well as that city (his regional capitol).
In response to this situation, Chastity and Rhom have BOTH been taped to be made Lords (specifically Barons). The catch? Well, they have to "clean up the trash" in their future Barony to get it. Did I mention that each are in Iuz-occupied Furyondy? Paul has been ITCHING to do this game and would LOVE it if people wanted to do it soon....!
Another aspect of all this is that all OFFICERS of Furyondy are on alert (can't really be away from home) until further notice. This means not just nobles, such as Baron Moorak, Baron Caeleia, and Arch-Duchess Damelia, but also members of the army, such as Major Mina and Captain Garlok.
Finally, ALL of the Knights of the Hart are REQUIRED to serve at this time. This means Caelaia, Damelia, Exvyn, Moorak, Rhom, Mina, Garlok, Tony, Chastity, and Xena are on-call and off-adventure duty.
Naturally, going on raids against orcish/Iuz targets is cool, but otherwise, we have the Oerdian version of the Battle of the Bulge going on... Getting together a powerful group to due potent raids would be EXACTLY what the King ordered....!

Hmm... As I expected. As strategy shows from RTS games and such, once the major advances and retreats have settled down, and there are established supply lines, it becomes a great time to take high-value high-mobility high-damage units and pit them against their vital spots. For example, just Kee'O and Kiro and perhaps one or two others could scout a supply train, caravan, or small waystation and improved invisibily light the place on fire, killing all beasts of burden, orcs, and such, then get away. Iuz is somewhat over-extended at this point, it's his area to lose. Likewise, I don't see why we couldn't get a very powerful and mobile party to take the battle to Iuz's capital itself. Orcs are lawful, but most of his powerful monsters are not. Just removing the leaders and destabilizing his whole organization should have a greater effect in a basically chaotic nation than average. Anyway, Solinane is still there, and Kee'O as well. I don't think I have anyone else that is normal enough to be allowed to fight for Furyondi.

Howdy Elf, Great ideas! Keep in mind, however, that Iuz uses demons as his elite troops. That means anything important probably has a powerful (but dumb) creature able to see invisible objects guarding it or nearby. So, we still might have a bit of a fight on our hands (but you're basic idea is totally valid). As for Dorakaa, well, the City of Bones is supposed to be CHUCK FULL of demons and undead of ALL sorts. While I would LOVE to run a strategic assault like that (talk about mayhem and destruction!), I should point out it should be at least as tough as the frost giant runs were. One last thing: Kiro is no longer at the front. He isn't a Knight of the Hart and has elected instead to act as Ambassador Amanda's personal bodyguard and decoy...and unlike Amidala/Padmay's doubles, Kiro can just reattach any body parts that get blown off...!

Sure - a strategic strike doesn't need to destroy everything in sight, just go for high percentage kills and Ddoor away. Perhaps even before demons come into play. Everyone can cast DE, so they're easy to spot, even further away than their DI.
Sounds like some recon in Dorakaa would be interesting. An assault that was even somewhat successful would start making Iuz seriously re-think his strategy. Up until now, he's kicked ass and really not lost anything for his trouble. Completely understood it should be the most powerful of characters that undertook such a mission.
And that's too bad, I'm sure Kee'O and Kiro got along swimmingly when they were hanging out on the front line. Kee'O is also too wierd to be a Knight, but has hung around Chastity instead.

Hi All,
Chastity has been working on putting a very powerful group together to start destroying the troops of Iuz. I would like to know what players are interested in doing this game and what their availablility for December Saturday games looks like? Kari and Ray? Andy and Jen? Others are welcome as well but David wants to keep the players to a minimum on future games.

Hey guys,
A couple of things:
a) just so you know, Ray, Paul, myself, and sometimes Kari have been doing a sorta off-the-cuff "pickup" game some evenings along these lines. The group has two goals, which is why the party is more than just one or two (trapped) PC: Garlok and Kyron are looking for engagement/wedding rings for their girlfriend/wife and their jewelry store/mall is the strong Iuz has at the fortress of Badibaskor. Now, at this point, the group has found (all in the last game) four magic rings, so the "other" theme is coming forward -- so long as this fortress is in orcish hands, Garlok is "on-call". Now that the heroes have slaughtered two levels plus some of the outside garrison, a dozen or so demons, and FIVE red dragons (of various sizes), they've "only" got to take out the commanding body of clerics and remaining tough minions...
Anyone wanna join us?
b) I would like to do the Furyondy game as a combo of "tactical strikes" (the PCs take out specific encounters using hit-and-run) with some "risk" elements (okay, these armies are here, so our forces will come around this way...) as well. Chastity and Rhom as well as Mina, Garlok, and Caeleia are especially tied into this.
c) I WOULD like to put a limit of SEVEN players on any game (barring special circumstances -- I certainly do NOT want to kick people off of a game to achieve this number). I think last Saturday was really tough, both for you guys and for me, and I think several people left the table frustrated. I will take the blame for this more than anyone else; I really have a hard time turning anyone away from a game and I really it when we can get together (legacy of a big family, I suppose). But, as I tried to express on the 20-Year weekend, I really can't handle more than seven players.

Oh, as an addendum to my last post, part c, my nephews will be here this weekend and next weekend as well as Turkey Night and Friday. I would like to "game as usual" with them during this time. I know this will put Sunday's game into the "more than seven" category, so I ask a) people to be patient and understand this is not the norm, and b) everyone to try a little bit harder to communicate and focus clearly.
To me, this is just like being at a big meeting with lots of contributors -- sorry that I can't be a better facilitator, but with help I might be able to handle a larger-than-normal group for short periods.
Suggestions appreciated...!
