So, here's the update on what's happening across the continent...assume the date is April 1st, 616 or later...
Horsemouth has killed between 10% and 33% of the population in most areas. The average is about 15%, with certain regions being more and less strongly hit. That said, at least 30% of the population is still disabled by this disease. Sickness and plague are rampant.
After the earthquakes, tidal waves, meteor storms, sudden floods, freezing and sweltering temperatures and other natural disasters, many villages and town are now in ruins. Iuz' forces have struck across Furyondy and the Shield Lands and have now begun to make inroads into Veluna. Death and mass destruction is everywhere. That Celene (the small moon) is missing and Luna (the larger, constant moon) has a huge chunk missing reassures no one.
As no new crops are growing and no new animals are born, food resources are already beginning to be strained. Fears of famine only make this already tenuous situation further volatile. Several human communities have been wiped out by monsters, apparently for food...
12' tall bug men have been seen across the continent. These creatures are almost totally unknown, but strike with amazing fierceness and bravery, slaughtering human, elf, hobbit, goblin, and ogre settlements alike. What this plague represents is unknown, but the threat remains...
Spirits of the dead remain among the living, unable to move on. Invisible at most times, some manifest in the darkest hours of the night or in particular places. They try to communicate with the living, sometimes with curiosity, sometimes with malice, and sometimes with concern... The Cairn Hills, including Greyhawk, Portown, and Ningal seem host to an amazing number of these spirits, some manifesting tangibly...
Also near Greyhawk, the swamps of the Mistmarsh have vomited up their denizens. Lizard men have come to Greyhawk, supposedly to help keep the peace. Led by the lizard man hero, Slee, and working with Rosh and Gor, these lizard men are accepted for now. Meanwhile, however, nearly all the smaller, out-lying communities have been attacked once or more by swarms of bullywugs looking for a meal.
Rumors abound of Ningal, the City of Witches, lying in ruins. New rumors, however, have begun to circulate that the cities is rebuilding with a new vengeance.
In the far northwest, along the coast frost giant raiders have begun to maraud in the domains of men. These brutes slaughter and destroy all who stand against them, carrying off many other as slaves or perhaps a meal...?
Meanwhile, inland, there are reports of numerous knoll-like creatures fleeing south. Scouts and rangers report decimated villages filled with wolf-like corpses. Some, however, report encounters with unkillable wolf-demons...
The Great Kingdom, meanwhile, has again begun flexing its military muscle, invading many of the smaller towns along the border of the North Province. Clearly, war is again in the air.
Farther south, the Isles of Medegia and the Sea Barons have been thrown into political chaos. Tidal waves devastated most of the Greek population centers while mobs and Nereganti priests have sacked many temples. Civil war seems immanent. Rumor is that the Celts of the Sea Barons have lost contact with their gods and have chosen to flee the land in search of Tir na Nog.
Vulcanos are irrupting all along the Hellfurnace chain. Lava and fire giants have begun to spill out. Human settlements, already sore-pressed by new assaults from the barbarians of the Amedio Jungle, are falling one by one.
Meanwhile, at the ancient site of standing stones known as Tovag Baragu, strange creatures prowl, hunting any living thing they can find.
Iuz's conquest of the North seem nearly complete. The only islands of resistance to the Old One's rule come from Amberwood, Grabford (although tenuously), and Chencl (despite being completely cut off now). It should only be a matter of time before the capital of Furyondy again falls. There has been no word from the elves of the Vesve Forst or Highfolk. Rumors, however, tell of demonic assassins decapitating the leadership of any resistance. There are also rumors of a giant, rampaging blue and white ape -- a beast that destroys all in its path.
Finally, on top of all else, wizard spells have begun to fail or suffer strange side effects. At first dismissed, these problems have only intensified in recent month, leaving many wizards victims of their own dweomers.
