It was a cold, October morning when a group of adventurers came together to rid the world of the threat in Tovag Baragu, a site of ancient celtic magic. It seems an ancient, primal Goddess used the powerful portals to leave the moon where she'd been imprisoned. Now Iuz is after her essence...can the heroes stop him?
The party consisted of:
The group was teleported to Tovag Baragu and immediately went to work gaining as much information as possible. Flora could immediately sense the power of the location, she could see over a dozen ley lines traversing through the ancient circle. At the same time, Gere sensed the presence of a God-like being...it was just watching the party.
Arianna took the opportunity to cast True Seeing...something in what she saw nearly drove her mad. For Aris, his information gathering spell (which he called Know History), the results were the same..nearly driving him insane, but no information was learned.
At that point, Aris took Arianna up on his carpet and together set out to explore the circle from the sky. The massive structure was over a mile wide and, briefly, Arianna saw something looking out from a portal...a red-furred, fanged beast w/ talons. Finding nothing else, the two returned to the party.
The group set out to walk to the center of the stone circles...careful to avoid any potential portals, the finally made it to the center. There, they were confronted by over a dozen stone arches...it was determined that they were able to be triggered for a few minutes at sunrise and sunset. Tetsuko remembered an old saying, "There is day and there is night, in between there are doors." So it was for the portals.
Using Flora's ability to sense ley-lines and Gere's ability to trigger them, the group went through the first portal they could activate...they approached the stone arch filled with dark mist. Holding hands, the group walked through. Immediately their nostrils filled the acrid scent of sulphur, bitter orange and churned earth. As they took their first steps on the sulty planet, the ground felt spongy. The fibrous peat stretched as far as they could see...which wasnt' far in some places when their visibility ranged between 10 to 40 feet. They could hear jungle-like noises and insects...off in the distance, the group could make out a pulse of light...pulsing on and then off. As they looked closer, it was a swarm of giant bugs.
Black Robe took a moment to Commune With Nature...the spirits of this planet were unable to communicate in a manner he was used to. It was clear they were unused to communicating and they seemed stunted...not childlike, but primative...as if they had not yet learned to communicate at all...and completely unaware that they are divine. Because of this, Black Robe was only able to learn very basic facts...the planet had a diverse flora and large fauna. Although, in the middle of the addled answers from the spirits came an erudite voice explaining which spoke of "delanium alloy sheilding" and "alien life forms studying" the planet. He was able to discover, through more questioning, that there was electromagnetic energy source located near the five alien creatures.
They figured they would have 12 hours before being able to activate the portal, so the group decided to explore. They headed out toward the EM energy source. Not too long after, they were attacked by a strange mushroom-like creature, called Terl's. The group quickly dispatched them and moved on. Further along, they were ambushed by two very large, winged worms (blights). Again, after a short combat, the group continued toward the location of the aliens.
After trekking through the forest for five and a half hours, the group reached a clearing, from where Flora's strange "magical" gadget said the EM field was coming. In fact, she insisted there was a non-magical force field keeping a building hidden.
Black Robe and Aris cast detect invisibility...they were shocked to discover five gray humanoids staring back at them...unphased...
