saunua: hay! not all mages don't do battle, I'm dobble proficent in staff.
(saunua bent bars a half dragon couldn't and saved mangs @$$ more times than we can count....together...)

Just rechecked the party and man were mage heavy!!
This is a bad thing, considering that most gods have spell resistance...so unless some more tanks want to come and help, I think we are in deep trouble.

I would like to say that Saanau (Aaron's elven wizardess) is one of the bravest and pro-melee mages I've seen in a LOOONG time (since Aris or Caernon, at least).
As for Jeff's comment, he (and Uncle Paul) are DEAD ON. Any powerful critter is going to have magic resistance, so too many mages will wind up being superfluous unless they're a) HIGH level or b) able to do good buffing spells (like strength, stoneskin, fly, etc).
Now, before you gimme grief for Raitan, keep in my the boy is a tougher warrior than his legendary cousin, Moorak. Sure, he'd LIKE to act as a mage on this one, but his woobbums is going to be going too and although Flora will SAY "don't protect me", Rai isn't the listening type in that kind of scenario...

Quendi 9th Mage
Saunau 6th Mage
Raitan 6th Mage
Blackrobe 13th Shaman
Falling Leaf 9th Shaman
Fighters:
Tetsuko 9th Kensai
Woody? 9th Werelord
Kate 11th Fighter
Mang 7th Fighter
Raitan 9+ Fighter
In Between:
Arianna 10th Cleric
We have approx. 50 levels of mages and approx. 30 levels of fighter at a minimum. And considering what Uncle David said...
Sure, our highest lvl person is a mage, but if I am assuming that most of our mages are blasters, which may or may not be true, we could have some very problematic situation. If we can get some NPC spells for buffs, that would be great. Still... I know that a strength spell will be basically wasted on Mang to bring him from 18/91 to 18/00, and fly only lasts a matter of minutes. We also need more clerics if we expect to survive past the few hits. Ray of Enfeeblement might be useful, at least 31% less strength.

Hi All,
I talked to David and we finally defined what tribe Falling Leaf is from and it's not the one that is in the area so it doesn't make sense for him to go. I was thinking about playing Ael'Mara but he can't go either right now. I'm going to try to give it a little more thought tonight and then post tomorrow.

Hi All,
We will be starting the Tovag Baragu game this Saturday, tomorrow, at 4:00 p.m. There have been way too many characters and players on recent games so David is limiting the players to one character per person. The only exception to this is that David has to play Flora for her second sight and Aris for his know history. The only other players with characters with these abilities are me and Andy. Andy is unavailable and my Shukenja is a little whimpy for this ride (note from DC: if someone else has a character with these abilities, then I'll happily withdraw my PC and go to one character as well, note also that I have come up with "something else" that is keeping Raitan occupied). Please this is a final decision so please don’t ask to play another character. The party make-up will be as follows (edited by DC):
David: Flora Drake -- 7th mage with second sight
David: Aris Tradewind -- 9th mage-type with access to know history
Kari: Arianna Devinshire -- 10th cleric of Athena
Ray: Blackrobe -- 13th Lakota shaman
Aaron: Saanau -- 6th elven mage
Jeff: Mang Ineedalastnamecuzimadwarf -- 7th dwarven fighter
Craig: Andorallen -- 7th fighter
Paul: Theseus -- 8th paladin of Athena
Angela: Yet to be determined (hopefully a fighter type)
This keeps the party to a reasonable size and will be much saner for David. We’ll see you all Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
