On the morning after the Greek Heros return from liberating Harmonia’s temple, Kephalonia’s flock gathers outside the orphanage. The 25 children are all dressed for traveling, each with a backpack or sack, including changes of clothes, miscellaneous items from the house, and other treasured toys and objects. Their excitement at going on a traveling adventure is obvious, several of the boys have battlefield-salvaged helmets and other bits of armor and battle with wooden swords, the girls talk loudly and giggle a lot, while many of the smaller children look around wide-eyed and clutch homemade dolls.
Erik and Ciaus join the group (and Ken Mu?!?) each carrying a chest or two, and at last Kephalonia emerges from the house, closes the front door, and locks it with a key. While her normal items and raiment seem in place, she is dressed in finery fit for nobility; new pointy-tipped boots, expensive ermine-lined cape with a high collar, jewels, bracelets, pretty white gloves, necklace with a fist-sized diamond; showy, yet all tastefully matched to each other. Also, her hair, while flowing free seems to have taken a rosy tint that matches the rest of her garb. In her hand, the ever-present brass pumpkin-cauldron shines brightly from a recent polishing.
“Come Children, off on our adventure!” She calls, and strides down the street. They of course, cheer, and start off after her. The merry group follows her through the streets, through the center of town (Kephalonia scatters a few gp at the crossroads) and out to the west gate, again talking loudly and waving to the morning crowds as they pass by. After they exit, there is some discussion, and the group dutifully forms three lines that each wait expectantly.
In the morning sunlight, Kephalonia casts Dimension Folding, as many have seen her do. First one portal opens, where a slightly post-dawn green grassy meadow awaits. The first group hurries through, in practiced fashion. Finally, the second and third proceed in the same manner, allowing all the children and others that are part of Kephalonia’s flock to pass through, leaving Kephalonia standing there by herself alone, by the side of the road.
She turns around to face the crowd that’s gathered, smiles, and holds a hand to her chest. Slowly the earth beneath her feet opens up, and she slowly sinks into it, still smiling. As her beautifully-coiffed hair passes the threshold of the hole, however, the hole it begins to fill itself in again, dirt rushing into place, until after another moment or two, the earth is completely filled in, almost as if undisturbed in the first place.
