After emerging from the Womb of the Earth on the 4th of June, Jellie, Trillian, Soren, Laurel, River, Thera, and Andorallan headed out of the Valley of Spirits. While they had been within the Womb, many of the heroes communed with the various animal spirits. Moreover, several of the reincarnated heroes received characteristics and knowledge of their original selves. The precise traits for everyone weren't known, but Trillian revealed that "he" was pregnant, Soren can now fly, River is again in his half-wood-elven body, and Andorallan is again human.
The heroes flew toward the edge of the Valley, enroute encountering three ogre magi. Although striking from invisibility, two of the monsters were ultimately slain, thanks in no small part to Trillian's faerie fire, Jellie's detect illusion, and Soren's lightning bolt.
In the early morning of the 5th, while the heroes were camped at the hot-springs campsite, they spied three strange creatures soaring over the Valley, clearly looking for something. On the back of each was a drow...
With dawn's light, the heroes flew out of the Valley and found Asriel. Together, the group first flew away from the Valley and then back, before finally making camp within a fissure of a glacier. Asriel then teleported Jellie and Laurel's new monkey-friend to Dragondale in order to make contact with Chastity. Unfortunately, Chastity wasn't there, although Mandar was in the Black Oak Inn with his children and nieces and nephews. Jellie spoke with him and the two of them went up to talk with Kara and Flora. Unfortunately, Mandar still bears the Eye of Ghaunadaur; Kara sent him from the room once she realixed what was going on! She then quickly accompanied Jellie to Chendl, where Chastity was and where the war was raging. Kara headed back to Amberwood while Chastity went with Asriel back to the party.
Unfortunately, Chastity had exhausted most of her magic during the day, so she had to rest that evening. On the morning of the 6th of June, she cast sufficient spells to transport the entire party back to Chendl, while Asriel headed off to Angel's Rock in order to find "the map of stars" and bring it to Sindari in the Onwall...

We need to rally the troops here - we have instructions on how to stop the apocolypse with others besides Trillian - I suggest we put them to as good use as possible...In addition to attacking the TofE

I posted this on the shattered circle topic as well:
1) River (Artec): completed, but died...; seen by EEG 2) Trillian (TC): completed; valley of spirits 3) Andy (Adromeda): completed by virtue of Trillian completing his 4) Cindari (Kate): completed; pass through the barrier to phlogestan. 5) Autumn (Sage): on the road to completion, finding & burying founding stone. 6) Mikos (Raitan): on the road to completion, finding spindle of istus 7) Dobby (Arlinoth): fairly easy to accomplish, IF we get him to proper place in China; drink potion of time travel, go back 100 years. 8) Laurel (Jessica): not likely to be completed; Kill a Primal God of Old. 9) Soren (Moorak): not likely to be completed; Die in a Selfless, noble way.... 10) Alice (Tetsuko): unlikely to be completed; something about a familial blade?? 11) Jellie (Jyoli): can complete anyone else's mission if that hero fails...

Howdy folks,
Paul and I were just talking about this very topic earlier today. Basically, the question is, what the hell are the New Heroes going to do now?
I know that sounds like a lame question, but really, it's important. Trillian has completed his mission, but (as far as they know) that is only meaningful so long as we can keep him alive (can I say "she" now that he's pregnant?).
At the moment, all of the New Heroes are sitting in the war-torn city of Chendl which is under assault from the combined forces of Iuz and the Horned Society with cadres of demons thrown in for good measure. There are even now rumors of an ARMY of giants on the march, headed toward Furyondy's capitol. True, there are many powerful heroes, including most of the Knights of the Hart, to defend the city. The problem is a) they're defending the city, not Trillian, b) demons still CAN teleport to a limited degree, and c) all it takes is ONE death spell to snuff half of us...
So, what's the plan?
Today, for the New Heroes, it's the morning of the 7th of June. Only 9 days to go...

Howdy folks, c) all it takes is ONE death spell to snuff half of us... Ummm...HALF of us? I'm not sure ANY of us could withstand a death spell...ACK...Queen Fangrabber....RUUUU....gurgle, splat, die.... (not sure how death spells work, but are those the ones that you need to be 9th level??)

Well, as Paul pointed out to me when I said the same thing, a death spell only kills a d4 of people levels 6th to 8th...so it'd get everyone under 6th and a d4-1 of those 6th+

we need to get out of Chendel and get to moving around on foot or horse. Just travel around now where special. Just travel around help out people where ever we can. Keep moving so the minions of the EEG do not get a lock on us. So that is my 2 cents. Ray River back from the dead

I agree...I don't think we should stay in one spot either. Perhaps we should head toward the wild coast, or the great kingdom. I'm not sure, at this point, what would be a realistic goal. Most likely is that we will be walking where ever we want to go....although, using Trillian's levitate spells, the broom, and Soren fly power, we could probably fly for a short burst each day... With all that we know about the EEG, we can try to focus on travelling places where he's not rumored to have an influence...if there is such a place... Anyone know of any Salt Flats? Perhaps the Salt Marsh?? Can't imagine the EEG having a big following in areas w/ lots of SALT!! [we'd just have to avoid Slee and his "attachment" to the EEG].

Soren agrees with you. She feels it MOST important to protect Trillian (in order to save every life on Oerth, as well as his and his unborn child). After that, she wants to do good and help people. Going someplace not known for its snails and slugs sounds like a great idea. So, where do we want to go? The frozen tundra would be one idea, although I think only Soren was comfortable there. Maybe a desert?
As you pointed out, the party now has the resources for a few short duration, high-speed flights each day. The only problem is that we will be largely defenseless while in the air if attacked by aerial monsters. Soren can fight and River can lay down fire, but Trillian will be a target, as will the wagon full of levitating PCs. That said, using this scenario, we should EASILY be able to cover a hex in an hour or two without anyone being winded (allowing for another half hex or more each day of additional travel, depending on terrain). The first day out of Chendl would be dangerous, but if we headed south or east, any additional travel would be over "friendlies".

With Chastity in Chendl, could she cast the improved version of 10' Invisibility shell?? This would AT LEAST allow us a chance to get out of Chendle undetected...certainly not a guarantee when dealing with Demons and such....but it would turn us and all of our equipment invisible...assuming all powers, spells and items are activated PRIOR to the shell invisibility.
Didn't we learn that one of the elements the EEG controls is ICE? So the tundra is a bad idea too... Are there any known salt flats nearby? I'm not sure where the "salt marsh" is in relation to our current position.
I'm not sure of the EEG's influence in the desert...but we must also take into consideration our own limitations...how long could we realistically survive in a desert??
I'll have to look at my notes to think of more ideas...

I need to take a look at Jellie's notes too - she asked Istus where we could be safe, and we should go down that list again. Agreed though, while going to Chendil was a good flea-flicker manouver to get The Forces of EEG (tm) off our trail, sticking around for more than a day or two doesn't seem very smart. Jellie, now newly 7th (well on her way to 8th! ) can cast Inviso 10' radius if we can get a copy. Furthermore, she can offer some spell support from said wagon, however, none of her abilities work that well against demons...or slaadi. She DOES inform the rest of the party about the crab-guys that showed up within a few rounds of her mentioning saving the world in front of Mandar. Also, while it doesn't seem like much chance of success, Jellie says we should make a case to whoever's in charge of the Chendil military defense (Chastity?) that they send a bodyguard or two along with us. Sure, it'll weaken the defense, but as far as we know, if Trillion eats it in the next 9 days, there won't be a Furyondi left to save. Maybe she could send Anastasia along with us. <G,d,r>

One other thing (again) if we could head toward someone or something that we think might be able to fly or teleport Dobbie to china, then that might be a worthy task.
Question: how long would it take a dragon to fly to the potion of TT...should we assume a 12,500 mile journey?

Unlike Earth, the exact circumfrance of Oerth is unknown. Only a handful of PCs have any real idea just how BIG a place the world is and none of them are even on the planet at the moment... Suffice to say that both Zakhara and Kara-Tur are beyond flight range for any known creature (else there would be far more traffic between the three regions, even if only by mages, adventurers, and the occasional monster).

One other thing just occurred to me - when the old Heros return, where will they return to?
Should we, as new heros, be there to greet them?
Creepy, eh? <Jellie smile>
