The heroes (Wynd & Thundyr, Conan, Flint, Kyron, Dajamira, Artec the Archer, and Sepharon) continued to battle fire giants.
Two came from the northern hallway weilding rune-encrusted hammers of human slaying! Conan's ioun stone helped him survive the crippling attacks. But arrows from the archers along with Conan and Daj's blades and Sepheron's hammers took the giants down quickly. That's when the ogre magi blasted the whole group with a cone of cold.
Artec and Wynd kept shooting the fleeing oni while four more fire giants, a pair of hell hounds, and two duergar came from the other direction. A lightning bolt from Flint quickly balanced the odds, though it killed nothing outright. Unfortunately, Sepheron still got rocked hard as did Conan from the giants. The ogre magi fled, but Sepheron nailed it with his hammer as it tried to fly away. Two more fire giants came in afterwards, giving the create a chance to escape. Meanwhile, King Virvle charged the party from the other direction with his two fire lizard pets.
Sepheron and Daj engaged with the King, who couldn't manage to hit either one back. Meanwhile, a hail of arrows from Wynd and Artec supported the paladin and ranger, with the King dying in less than 30 seconds without ever landing a blow. Meanwhile, Kyron started healing Conan once the battle in the northern hallway was over. A few moments later, the heroes finished the final duergar and considered their next move as gongs could be heard sounding in the distance...
