The heroes (Pak, Bruce, Benji, and Baelaman) decided to get the children (Ciara and Tristan) back to civilization as quickly as possible. Originally, Ciara elected to stay put and wait for her family to find her, but the party told the 9 near old she needed to go. On the way, the group befriended Gul K'torin, who happened to know and adventure with Ciara's cousins.
Shortly after leaving, the party spotted two trolls following them. Following a careful ambush assisted by Bruce's psionic abilities, the heroes manged to best them both. Unfortunately, these were the scouts for a troll hunting party with the group encountering three more a little while later, all clearly tracking the group by scent.
The following day while scouting ahead, Gul K'Torin spied and helped the party avoid a large encampment of ogres, a small army, camping in the Cairn Hills without watch or care, but obviously looking for trouble. The group added to their travel time avoid such danger.
Early on the third day, the group spies and avoid a large band of roving dead, almost certainly ghouls. The mountain town of Aramont appears to be in their path…!
