The heroes (Joshua, Scout, Gilgamesh, and Viktor) paused outside the Mausolium Shrine on the edge of the graveyard to heal and recover. Joshua, Scout, Gilgamesh, and Viktor drank quite a few potions and used most of their remaining magics. The group tried the front door, but it was sealed with wax.
The group entered by the side, encountering a mortuary temple where all the grave stone had been pulled up to reveal the baren earth beneath. Guardian the scene were three cermaic figures astride ceramic horses, burning with a dark green light from within. Each of the figures spilled fire to the ground before moving to attack
Beyond the three terracotta cowboys stood the Angel of Death. Behind that floated the runestone, six ioun stones orbiting it. And where the green fire touched the ground, skeletons, zombies, and a skotos rose from the earth.
The heroes focus on the cermaic foes. Viktor's blades and Gilgamesh's claws prove almost ineffective against the monsters. Lucikly, Scout's broadsword of shattering and Joshua's magical mace prove particularly effective. The undead, now risen from the earth, attack alongside the warriors, with more fire raining down.
Scout drops one terracotta warrior and goes for a second while Viktor goes for Death. More undead come from the ground, but each warrior falls, fewer rise and of lesser strength. Viktor lands a solid hit against Death, but receives a steady series of slashes back. Joshua attempts to turn, but it only removes a single zombie.
Scout takes out the second terracotta warrior as Viktor slays the Minor Death. A halo envelopes Viktor and he smashes the runestone. There's a massive pulse of purplish-white energy that touches each Viktor, Joshua, and Scout -- more than a dozen years of the pent of lifeforce of the world of Charn, manifest. The pulse obliterates the lesser undead and damages the rest. Joshua goes down but Gilgamesh arrives just in time to save the cleric.
Victorious, the heroes consider their new gifts and contemplate how to reach the skyships floating in the skies above and their runestone. That's when Viktor, nephew of the Brown Witch, reminds the group that they have a broom named Matoya.
