Hereos (Saundra, Claude, Starglow, Rajinder, and Erik) transported to the glacier and headed directly to toward the Tower Gem, known as the Heart of Winter, through a combo of careful planning and dumb luck.
The heroes battled four extra-tough ice trolls and Starglow's lightning bolt brought down the roof behind them, causing the party to turn the best way toward the gem and battle only those foes in the way. The group later fought three more superior ice trolls plus nine yeti before sumbling upon the polar worm tunnels.
Using his sword, Rajinder was able to scan for the gem and head the heroes straight toward it. The five heroes attacked the remorhaz. It swallowed Claude whole! Erik tried to extinquish it's heat, but failed. Raj, however, jumble the creature's mind, buying time for the cleric to rescue the fighter. Meanwhile, Starglow and Erik have been unleashing everything they have. Saundra narrowly saves Claude and attacks the polar worm herself. It then swallows her whole before anyone can save her, killing the cleric. The hroes attacked again, finally killing hte worm, but it was too late -- all that was left were a few hunks of burned meat.
The heroes recover the gem and Raj quickly attuned himself to it with Erik's help. Holding it, the group retreats and rests, where Rajinder contemplates the gem with Erik's help. Rajinder then plumbs its secrets, learning of the Arcane Arts.
The remaining treasure still needs to be divided…
