One minute a random group of hero types is doing their thing, the next they're in a cavern complex, having been accidentally summoned via a Monster Summoning II spell cast by a hireling bard. Unfortunately, poor Gwendolyn was the only survivor of a much more powerful party. She used a scroll to summon the group and her service was to get her safely out of the dwarven mines
The impromptu party consisted of Gul K'Torin, a crystal elf, Bob the fighter, Kay an elven archer, Gunther the warrior, unarmored teenage Kitara, and short, squat Amber, cleric of Athena.
The group battled 14 magically-enhanced spiders before leaving the first series of chambers.
Next the group had to deal with three drow snippers, with Bob and Gunther charging in while Kay traded shots. Once the group closed, Gul, Gunther, and Bob slaughtered one dorw while Kitara landed a series of brawler blows that crippled the second. At one point, Gul slipped ahead and slept the six orcs guarding the exit.
