Using Fridmarr's mind read spell the heroes learn that the rabbit-folk were unwilling slaves of the small, hairy wolf-eel creature. Those things cannot normally enslave his kind, but this one could and it claimed his entire community as slaves. The rabbit creature would like to return home and has a rough idea of where to go. Except, well, it's not like he was pay LOADS of attention and only did it once, so, he'll his best. But he WANTS to go home.
The party uses some of the cloaks the rabbit men did and slips out of the city by night. They journey into the night and camp in some ruins of an ancient necropolis outside of Viridistan. Amid tombs cut into the rock they slept.
They met a gynasphinx who tried to pursued the group into exploring a series of ruins in the hope of recovering a magical gem. The heroes entered, battled a few undead, and fled.
Finally, the group reached where the rabbit person had come from. Behind a stone-shaped split in the rock lay a hiden dale. Within the dale, more caves, but at the entry to one was the clear sign of a battle. The group quickly explored the first passage, finding the lair of most of the rabbit folk, now slaughtered and risen and undead ghouls, hungry to feast on something tastier than carrots!
