The party (Connel MacHamish, Gabriel, Gimble Gemnose, Gretle, Stalking Wolf, Ramson, Saundra, and Lillith) retreat to smoke the crocodile meat they've obtained. The group settles in with Ramson and Lillith on guard to watch, both of whom fail to sound an alarm before a half dozen crystal people enter the room. The fight is not difficult, but the heroes take some damage. Many hours later, a band of four weretigers enter the room, wounding Stalking Wolf and Gimble before being slain.
The heroes then return to and further explore the indoor forest. After encountering the maiden and unicorn again, the group tries one of the main entrances to the château (seriously, this is more of a palais than a château fort or even just a château), where they again see the "outside" which is just more mist. Suddenly, the gnome says something and leaps into the gray fog, disappearing from view as well as from the heroes' memories, as if had never been a member of the party.
Not missing anyone or anything, the group returns inside the château and continues to the East Wing, where they pass under an ancient stone henge dripping blood. Beyond, the group finds a throne room full of immobile skeletons, fused into place. Connel's new magic sword warns that the throne is mechanically trapped with some powerful magic within. About that time Stalking Wolf starts acting funny. The party beats the Flan beastmaster into unconsciousness. Unfortunately, when he recovers, he keeps trying to cast spells, ultimately being knocked out several more times. Tied up so that he can only speak, the party tries again, only for Stalking Wolf to complete disappear, leaving both his gear and the ropes binding him behind.
Things happen...
Connel notices the door in the southern wall open and the group again subdues Stalking Wolf, who's now clad in a blue loincloth and halter made of ornate blue drapes. He also has a "belt" of two pillow cases tied together with an assortment of pouches attached, each full of spell components. The heroes explore the adjoining rooms, including a blue one, a white one full of snow with a frost salamander (!), a green one with a giant bearing a two-handed sword who Connel slays in a single blow, then a black room which has a secret door in it.
The heroes descend to a lower level where they come upon a room with strange 10' square parquet floors, each section bearing a different capital letter. The party crosses the room with little effect, although some find enhanced abilities while Ramson is struck blind, although the cleric of Ra takes care of that.
What IS in the room beyond...?
