And odd group of figures wake up together in the foyer of a strange, ornate castle surrounded by a fading gray light. Most of the group had no idea where they were or why they were there. Indeed, most of the group had never met. Connell MacHamish, Gimble Gemnose, and Stalking Wolf are all from Amberwood while Ra Ma Lon had at least met Gabriel's brother on a previous adventure. Filling out the group are Ramson, son of Domar, Saundra of Gana, and Gretel the alchemist. After discussing their situation, the group set out to explore their new locale.
In the first room the group encountered a boxing master. Connell defeated his champion easily and Stalking Wolf managed with some effort, allowing both to gain extra training. Meanwhile, the rest of the party is forced to battle a half dozen shadows that came while they were waiting.
The group then started exploring the main hall of the place, a massive structure unlike anything they'd seen before, complete with a red carpet! Thr group met and battled three spell-casting spiders and avoided battle with some cat-people, a man with a lion's head, and an ogre in hair curlers. The group did find and destroy a black pudding, a green slime, and a gray ooze.
As the heroes were exploring the palace, they joined a ghostly dinner. By the end of the meal, many of the party members found themselves slightly changed... The group retired to a massive linen closet to spend the night and rest.
