The heroes (Flint, Waseem, Joshua, Isra, Jaru, Satrine, Jax, Vinelwa, and Rowen) continue exploring the glacial caverns on the edge of the Black Ice. The heroes encounter a pair of foxes play fighting. These beasts breathed an hoary vapor onto Jax, badly hurting him, before being hacked down. The group first met six ice trolls and then a major convocation of them with 30 including three with magical powers. After a fierce battle, the heroes encountered a dozen red millipedes 9' long capable of moving through the ice due to their intense heat. One tore a hole through Satrine's armor. The paladin located an ice ogre transformed into ice and waiting in ambush. By this point, the heroes found three slyphs hiding in magical mists chasing glowing pastel gems. Joshua befriended them but it was Waseem who first grasped a Gem of Compassion, gaining 
. Joshua gained Wisdom and Isra gained Strength. The heroes also slaughtered five ice trolls and found six giant partially-domesticated rabbit creatures with massive antlers big enough to ride.
